I'll concur with Tatum being a good actor (not sure why he was mentioned other than to deflect). I just watched Foxcatcher again
Probably came down to why settle for Liam when we can get this guy who is looks better and has a better build to be Thor.
So yeah nothing I've said has changed, at least not my opinion of the Hemsworth bros. Good thing Liam has that even older brother around to not make him look that bad. He's like a troll in comparison.
Some ppl said the same thing for WW and I find Gadot pretty unattractive given the options for WW.
Sex appeal is not the biggest factor. You sound like an a-hole saying that.
You're so focused on comic book depictions it makes me wonder how many different artist styles you've seen depict these characters. You keep talking about Carol Danvers like she's built like She-Hulk and she is not. You post some art and it's pretty clear you're seeing something different or your perspective is radically twisted when it comes to adapting the look to film.
This whole pick an unknown actor aint gonna fly either. Hemsworth got tapped for the role because these were the early MCU movies when they weren't sure it'd be a success and quite frankly it's not like the Thor movies are great, some would say they're barely good. You don't go looking for A-list Brad Pitt when you're not sure the first movie will even make enough money to see a profit. You can't keep citing almost 10 year old examples and ignore the casting practices of the MCU TODAY.
You keep talking about fit the build but there really isn't any build to fit that's so strict. It's not some rigid form that actors work to get in to. I'd say you're wrong about Cobie/Maria and simply point to Rhodey/War Machine by both Cheadle and Howard, neither look like the brother but Cheadle makes it work. Same goes for Renner looking like Hawkeye. There are better choices.
Moot point though cuz if Blunt ends up being Carol, Carol gonna end up looking more like her in the comics anyway.
So Liam Hemsworth is such a bad actor that his brother who wasn't even originally considered for their short list just got the nod from a well regarded director/producer/writer that they forgot about Liam.Chris Hemsworth is a marginally better actor than Liam.
I can't think of a good Liam Hemsworth movie let alone a good acting performance from him.. I'll take Chris hosting SNL over Liam's career right now.
Turns out, the Australian-born actor, 27, wasn't even on the director's original shortlist -- his younger brother Liam Hemsworth was.
After months of searching for his star, director Kenneth Branagh narrowed his list to four actors, with each candidate invited to do a screen test, including Liam, 21, whose credits include the Miley Cyrus movie The Last Song and the upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games.
Today, Chris laughs about it, telling The Hollywood Reporter he wasn’t in top form when he first met Branagh.
Branagh ultimately went back to the drawing board and decided to re-evaluate some previous contenders, like Chris.
Liam was able to give his sib tips based on his own experiences auditioning. “We’re competitive,” Chris tells THR, “but in the best way.”
Chris also was given a boost by producer Joss Whedon (with whom he worked on the 2011 chiller Cabin in the Woods), who placed a supportive phone call on the actor’s behalf. A video the actor made with his mother also played helped.
Probably came down to why settle for Liam when we can get this guy who is looks better and has a better build to be Thor.

Just cuz you're not the only one sharing that thought doesn't mean you're not sexist.I mentioned in here months ago, when we originally were talking about Blunt being Danvers , about sex appeal being the biggest factor for CM's casting and being the main reason I didn't want Blunt in the role. I was labeled as sexist but I knew I wasn't the only one sharing this thought. Nothing against Blunt again, she's an amazing actress but the blond buxom look of Carol could be better suited for another actress. One who married Ryan Reynolds.........and isn't already cast black widow
Can we take a step back and talk about Ryan Reynolds rap sheet though. How do you marry Scarlett and Blake. Nuts
Some ppl said the same thing for WW and I find Gadot pretty unattractive given the options for WW.

You're view on this is all ****** up to me. Bringing up kids and other countries and it's a family movie is irrelevant. They're not good points at all.it's not about F-ability at all.... it's about look of the character.
again........
there aren't too many MCU characters who DON'T fit the build of who they are casted to play. only one I can really think of is Maria Hill, (but I love colbie Smulders) I think they should've used a different actress (hell Hemsworth wife Elsa Pataky) would've been a good choice.
but again I like colbie, just doesn't look like Maria hIll to me.
as I said let others actors/actress eat
Hemsworth wasn't wildly popular before thor, they let him eat....
marvel doesn't need big names like blunt
They are making family movies... Kids and most countries overseas could give a care less if a big name was playing these roles or not
