WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Agatha All Along new ep every Wednesday

I thought luis Pena character was hilarious and had great scene. However I can understand lationos saying he was only there as comic relief and not a serious character. How many other Latinos have been in the mcu? I honestly can't think of any right now.

I'm black, so I see certain things differently that the average folk, I will leave it up to a latino/Hispanic to say whether they were offended by his character or not. That is not my place

What? :|
He's really saying that white folk tend to not see why something would be offensive at all to a certain group especially when it's really offensive. They're somehow oblivious.

That's why as a black person he sees nothing wrong with Pena's character he aint about to tell latinos they shouldn't be offended.

Ah, that makes much more sense.

Repped, I was about to go off, but you clarified my stance perfectly.

I didn't see anything wrong with Pena's character. I've seen plenty of white people play the whole 'close friend, strictly comedic relief' type character

It wasn't like they made fun of any latino stereotypes. He was just a straight up, comedic, hyper goofball

I forget but back when he was still working for Hydra he killed someone in Wakanda, maybe T'Challa's dad, or stole vibranium or something worth BP hunting him down.

Thats right i think they did explain that... i need to rewatch the movie. I went and saw it at night whem it released. Im an old man now so when i sit in those dark movie theaters i make it about 20 mins in before i start dozing off. I know i missed a scene or two.

Lol of course it's only bad if he's non-white.
Imagine if Luis was a white guy. Same with Dave. Then they'd be angry there's only white people in the movie.
Now imagine if neither of them were funny. Now they're complaining about these characters being one-dimensional and worthless. You can't make anyone happy nowadays, no matter what people are always going to find something to be pissed about.

Im a white guy. If it was the other way around I'd rather have a funny fan-favorite character in a movie than a one-dimensional nobody/sidekick. Don't see why color and race ALWAYS have to be brought up in today's society. People are people.

I agree with his point. And im black.
And usually no one thinks to get upset about anything until someone else mentions it then its a mob mentality.
He literally couldve played any part aside from antman in the movie and u could argue some racist comment as to why he played that part.
Let it go....
ESPECIALLY. If you didnt feel thay way while u were watching it.
I didnt watch thinking to myself ... why they making TI. Look like a stereo typical black criminal out here......
Stuff like that isnt crossing my mind. And it doesnt need to. Its a story. And they placed actors in place to act it out.

That mob mententality got everyone in a tissy.

For the white guy that responded I don't listen to most white people when it comes to anything with race. I have given up...so yea

For the black dude who wanted to play suck up. I have heard a lot of rumblings from different Latinos about his character. So this whole "oh race doesn't matter" crap matters to people who they are suppose to represent. Think about this for a second, imagine if there were no high profile black person in the MCU (luckily we have war machine, nick fury, falcon, and soon BLACK PANTHER) and ant-man came out and the first high profile black character was Luis (great acting performance by him btw) a bumbling, coming relief character. How would you feel?

All I'm saying is have a different perspective on how a character would represent the masses, especially when that race or whatever they are represented is under representing

The people mad about Peña's character can go sit in the corner with the angry femininists mad at Joss.

Lol so no matter who responded with an answer different from yours you were going to reject it

Nah, let's stay on this topic a little. This is kinda interesting
Curious. Are you a Latino male? Don't lie either
I'm black. It's not as if he was portraying any negative stereotypes of Latinos. Or did I miss something?
