WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Agatha All Along new ep every Wednesday

Like I said sir, we are talking about different articles.

And I get that so I posted the articles I've read that never said Garfield said no to the role.

If the article you've read is different, then post it so we can see where the source got their story from.

Lol I would if I knew how to copy and paste from my phone

Trying to find the same article on my computer, turning up different search results for some reason

You can easily just type the website _____.com and the story should be pretty easy to find from there.

Not necessarily. RDJ and Chris Evans have both been trying to make sure they arent typecasted.

It sucks that he will be remembered for a reboot that didnt do well but if this thing with scorsese pop off, then he wouldve made the correct decision.

Never understood this line of thinking, these films are making them legendary to entire generations both young and old.

Sure, go do The Judge in your spare time or non memorable movies like Snowpiercer and Puncture. You are the face of a freaking franchise. You are freaking Iron Man and Captain America!

That's why I like Chris Pratt, dude knows how lucky he is to have been cast in the Marvel Universe and now that GotG has taken off, dude is flourishing.

Damn, Garfield is 31. Dude looks like he just got past puberty.

The thought of a proper symbiote and green goblin with elf hat has me filled with glee!
Even this post betrays your former faith in Sony and contradicts all that talk of masterpieces you were claiming they made :lol

RDJR is not worried about being typecast. He's already had a 20+year career of great movies. He's about to be 60 in a few years. This is when as an actor you do w/e you want and/or pays the most.

Not to mention, Iron Man resurrected his career. It's probably one of the main reasons he's Sherlock Holmes in the movies.

Chris Evans is the one that's worried but that's cuz he's not that great of an actor.

Besides Garfield is 31. He has nothing to worry about if he continued being Spidey for another 3-4 films or if he goes and becomes another superhero in another franchise. It didn't hurt Tobey's career at all. Then again I think the main factor in these things is if you're a really good actor. Once you show that you become in demand. If you've never shown potential in much of anything that's when they start calling you by your most memorable role constantly.

Chris Pratt really just started his big screen career and it doesnt look like he is typecast yet. Cowboy Ninja Viking and his role in Jurrasic World dont seem like they will be the same character as Star Lord.

Sherlock Holmes role is very similar to Tony Stark and those are his most successful franchises since he took the Iron Man mantle.

Being cast to one type of role, like action star (Pratt) > Being cast to one type of character
No they're not.

Master Zik Master Zik don't come in here hating. The only thing that I was "wrong" about was Garfield's incarnation of spiderman being carried over into the MCU but like I mentioned earlier as well as these new surfacing reports, the talks were there for Garfield to come back but Sony left a bad taste in his mouth. Believe it or not there's going to be a lot of figure heads watching over this marvel x Sony civil war film. Garfield already went through a lot of bull with ASM2, I'm not surprised something of this magnitude would cause him to look away from the franchise. Not to say that he turned it down but I don't think he had the vigor to want to the role anymore...

....funny how everyone said spiderman wouldn't happen in the MCU because there would be no explanation as to where he was while the avengers were fighting...

...funny how no one cares now :rolleyes

"Told you so"

Lol no that wasn't it. We were saying we couldn't use Sony's Spiderman from the ASM series because it was pretty obvious that world was in its own bubble with no mention of anything connecting to the MCU

And we'd still be right.

hes still coming to the MCU which was the point of the discussion.

"Told you so"

Me and a few others pointed out how easy it would be to get around

Also like amel said a lot of people were saying this about Garfield's spidey, not spidey in general.

The biggest argument was that the lawyers would never agree to profit sharing. But they were both desperate enough for each others services to say **** the money.

But you were right about Spidey coming to the MCU. Surprised you aint goin harder with the "I told you sos"

I still think this is dumb tho. They thought GotG was a risk. Moving around planned movies for Spidey and letting Sony control the rest of the spideyverse movies seems way riskier.

Feige has input now, and Avi Arad and some other who were responsible for the Sony films don't. No where as close as being risky to GOTG.

after all the praise im sure this version of Spidey will get i think Marvel will have heavy hands on future Spiderverse movies. if theyre laying out a gameplan i doubt theyll let Sony just do more dumb **** with him.

Right now, Feige seems to only have direct input in Spidey films, not the Spidey spin-offs.

If Sony moves forward with their spin-offs without any quality control on Marvel's part that might be bad for all parties involved.

I thought Feige and whoever he puts in charge basically has full creative control on the new slate of Spidey films but the rest of the Spideyverse films are Sonys to do whatever with. Venom and Sinister 6 and the female Superhero movie. Dont forget those movies will be part of the MCU as well.

If I am mistaken then NVM.

Also having to make all these changes last second is usually a risks.

EDIT: NVM didnt realize there were more post on another page but amel got to it before me.

Nobody cares about the spinoffs.

You should. The'll be part of the MCU as well. Although detached to the larger narrative they will still be attached to the Spidey films.

yea it wouldnt make sense that theyre recreating Spidey and theyre gonna let Sony do whatever with him and use whatever MCU characters in their ******** stories.

Nobody cares about the spinoffs.

You don't see how that would be a problem for Marvel?

Sony would likely use as their selling point that all of their spinoffs are set in the mcu

And if they are bad..

Feige has creative control though. It's been in like 5 articles why yall arguing about it? Have faith in feige gawd

Not with the spinoffs. Just the ASM reboot. There's been like 5 articles why are you arguing about it?

They all say Feige is not involved with the spinoffs.

If they are attached to spidey, be default, they will be part of the MCU.

Find a post of me saying that.

Once again, you prove you never really understood what I was saying.

No his point was that the ASM continuity was coming to the MCU. Not just Spidey.

He was talking about the Norman Osborn as Iron Patriot rumors, the alleged rumor of OsCorp showing up in Avengers and other speculation to bolster his anniversary poster nonsense.

None of which has been proven to be right or even slightly credible.

... but yeah he told us.

I could of sworn IGN stated that the spin-offs won't have any connections to the MCU spiderman reboot. Spin-offs would just be Sony's. Im guessing  all solo Spidey films will be dealt with Marvel and Sony for now on.

If you want to see it that way and really think he has no say. It's as simple as the spinoffs are not in the MCU. There is no "by default".

If the deal is ONLY for Spidey, then Feige can straight up tell them unless he's going to have say then your spinoffs have nothing to do with the MCU.

They won't be referenced at all in the MCU works, there's no deal for other MCU heroes to show up in their spinoffs anyway.

Now while that might not be tenable in promoting to the viewing audience for Sony, the smart move by Sony would be to include Feige unless he pulls the deal.

Cuz trust it'll be pretty apparent when none of those spinoff characters show up in Infinity War when the MCU heroes are saving the universe.
