WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Agatha All Along new ep every Wednesday

It's been stated by the creators that his costume will evolve as the series goes on.

I didnt think it would be THAT good when dude said it would be family friendly. But I guess he meant "modern" family friendly. I dont think anyone gives a **** about blood anymore but that makes movies automatically rated R. The TDK trilogy wouldve been rated R if they showed the blood of all the people who were beat halfway to death. Truth be told rating systems are pretty outdated even in movies. They should just do what TV does and tell us what to watch out for in the movie.

This is conservative America we are talking about. They still think the violence in movies and video games is the root cause of violent thoughts in children and not lack of parenting |I

Its really just bad parents who think that. People who cant admit that they were bad parents so they blame **** like Eminem, San Andreas, Gangsta Rap, Metal/Punk/Grunge, etc but dont blame themselves for not spending time with their child and leaving their gunsafes unlocked.

This means I can get a Moon Knight & Punisher series one day

I want Punisher in the Civil War movie.
Don't know how it'd work. Whenever Bucky comes back, and if he's wreaking havoc, I'd love for them to have the Punisher try to track him down, and Cap getting in the way.

studios copy eachother all the time when they see someone else doing something successful

if it wasnt for GOTG making a ton of money DC probably dosnt risk SS

maybe if an R rated deadpool movie does well then they will greenlight a high profile punisher movie

I doubt it. A Punisher film won't make a ton of money. He'd be best as a supporting character, and under Netflix

Well we don't really know how they're going to adapt the storyline but Punisher could easily fit in there somewhere being a vigilante and all, he could be one of the main causes of the registration act.

But really I just want to see as many heroes in Civil War as much as possible.

As for actor choice, I'd vote for Ray Donovan as Punisher, I think he'd be great in that role.

taken 2 made almost 400m

that demographic of movie goers combined with all the marvel fanboys and i can see it getting to 5-600m if marketed right

Really can't even go against any films put in Marvels hand bombing in the box office today. PG13 Punisher film would suck in theory but they'll make it work, if they can make Cap a bad m'fer and Winter Soldier throwing soldiers into turbines and have little girls snap another girls neck in tv shows then they can make Punisher work in film.

Yeah, but we've seen Taken 3 times now. And the critical reception for the sequels have been bad. I just can't see what they can do with the Punisher to warrant a film aside from his origin.

It's not about the rating. It's moreso about what they'll do with him. As a standalone character, I just don't think a film will be interesting enough. They'd have to pair him with another character imo.

You guys act like they actually showed the lil girls body after her neck was snapped. All you saw was one girl twisting her arm.

But the last 2 sucks badly while the first one was pretty good and a surprise. The last two actually only lived off the popularity of the first one.

As for where to take him, there are at least a handful of good arcs for Punisher. I don't think you've read much Punisher books if you can't think of where to take his story outside of his origins. I mean origins can be the first film and then the sequel could be 4-5 years from there and he just makes cameos in other films like Civil War or Black Panther or whatever. It's not like they'd make a Punisher film once every year that they'll have to come up with a bunch of stories.

Ehh I guess, I just don't see it happening. I mean, they took Daredevil to Netflix, I'd figure he'd be done the same way.

Daredevil was taken to Netflix because they planned to make a Defenders show to go along with 3 other individual series.

Punisher is stand-alone. Don't get me wrong, I know he can work as a tv series, hell make it very brutal and put it on HBO and have nudity in there, I won't mind one bit.

I'm just saying, he could work as a film especially in Marvels hand. I mean even after GotG, I just really can't go against Marvel and doubt their abilities. This isn't Fox or Sony or WB we're talking about here.

Somehow I could still feel the brutality of it though.

It's the implied brutality and how they managed to work around it is the main reason I used it as an example of how a PG13 Punisher could work. I mean we also saw a little girl stab a grown man in the chest and shoot them dead on primetime tv (9pm is primetime right?). Hell they got Coulson head sewed off as they tinker with his brain, that is a difficult image to see especially for a show that still has a main audience as kids. Marvel/Disney seems intent to push the line somewhere and see where they can get away with. So I am sure they can make Punisher do head shot assassinations in a PG13 film and get away with it somehow.

DAREDEVIL Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight Talks In Detail About the Show

On The Evolution Of The Costume:

Really, the reason we start with this version -- which is hugely influenced by Man Without Fear -- is for two reasons. One, this really is the beginning, the formation of Matt Murdock a Daredevil. On the flip side, it’s the formation of Wilson Fisk becoming Kingpin. It’s very much a parallel arc. We didn’t want to start him in the [red] suit. We wanted the early days of him figuring out what he was doing and making mistakes and getting the crap beat out of him on a regular basis. His suit, which we call his vigilante outfit, in the beginning - we tried practically everything, design-wise. We experimented with a lot of different head pieces. One version was a ski mask with the eyes sewn shut. We tried everything until we found something that just felt right. And also, really going back to that Man Without Fear, I can’t say where his costume ends up, where it goes, but there is definitely an evolution.

On The Kingpin's Role In The Series:

When we first meet him, he's a very mysterious figure, as you can gather from the teaser. Absolutely, a lynchpin of Season 1. I think there’s a no better way to start of the series than a formative Matt Murdock coming up against a formative Wilson Fisk. We were so incredibly lucky to get Vincent D’Onofrio, who is not only a phenomenal actor and an amazing person to be around, so very generous as an actor and performer, but I don’t know if there’s another human being on the planet that embodies WIlson Fisk, physically, like in the comics. I think, honestly, he is as close as you’re going to get, unless you’re doing an animated series. We just marveled. We were like holy s**t, it is Wilson Fisk come to life! Even in the teaser, when you just see him from behind, standing in front of that painting, you just get the feeling that it’s Wilson Fisk, the future Kingpin. Fisk plays a crucial role in Season 1, as the adversary of Matt Murdock. Also, on the flip side, Matt Murdock is the fly in Fisk’s ointment. What I love about this show is we’re able to explore some gray areas of who is really good, who is really bad, and which person is really better for the city in the long run.

On Including Stick:

We spent weeks and weeks talking about Stick and who do we get and I had been saying coming into the show, I was obsessed with getting Sonny Chiba and mixing it up but that didn’t quite work out. We had mentioned in the [writers] room Scott Glenn and I don’t know why it fell by the wayside but I was watching The Leftovers and I saw him and I believe he is in his earlier 70’s and in better shape than me or anybody I know. So I suggested everybody take a look at The Leftovers and his performance and everybody was on board. We reached out to his people and were delighted. First, I sent an email to my old buddy Damon Lindelof. I just wanted to make sure he was not shooting [The Leftovers]. I didn’t want to step on his toes and once that was cleared up, we reached out and he was very interested. He read the script and really liked it and said, "Yeah, I’d love to do it." I can tell you, one of the highlights of my career was getting on the phone with Scott Glenn, because he’s exactly how you would imagine him. He’s just a fantastic guy. He’s so great to work with. His portrayal of Stick... He’s perfect in that role.

On The Brutality Of The Series:

I always loved in the comics that also this is a guy that has heightened sense but no super powers. This is a guy who’s pushing himself to the limit who can get hurt and can get killed... I’m hugely influenced by the Frank Miller runs that I grew up with, where he was constantly getting the crap kicked out of him. Again, obviously there’s a bit of a heightened sense of reality that he can do what he can do and not end up in the hospital every other day. But we also touch upon why that is. Really, it’s like Batman without the money. He is just determined. It’s sheer force of will that keeps him going when a normal man would fall over and a lot of that I think, also in the Matt Murdock mythos, comes from his father and being a boxer and that kind of thing, where you just don’t quit.

She was a part of the Black Widow program that trains young girls to be assassins. For now, she's just Dottie.
