. This is really frustrating and any help is much appreciated. I am using a Samsung Captivate by the way and I'm on 2.2 froyo.

Didn't I pm you before?
I'm pretty sure they won't work because you're on Froyo

Use this, it will take you back to 2.1

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989

Your apps will be back upped with Google, everything else will be wiped unless you have put it on your computer or you external sd card. And the part where it says to take you battery out and put it back in. Make sure to put the battery cover back on. A lot of people brick their phone because during the process the battery falls out to due not having the cover.

After that use this to root

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739304

Since you'll be on 2.1, flashing a 2.3x ROM
Will try this today thanks bro. And yes you did PM hahhaha I never checked my inbox until today. God I'm such an idiot. Didn't want to you to feel like I was ignoring you.

Like Tets said, its possible. Have it on my phone here

Mastamind hows CM7 compared to MIUI? Same customization? That link you posted to that CM7 looks
pimp.gif
wish the Inspire had that
CM7 is much closer to stock ROM, probably the closet. MIUI is a lot more customization but it has more bugs. The theme manager in MIUI has more depth to it. What I really like about MIUI is the built in backup app and it has a file server. At one point CM7 was really ahead of MIUI in terms of battery life and performance. MIUI has gotten better in those areas.
Yea so far its pretty good, running well minus the FC of LP I had on the reboot. I'm not sure what version of CM7 it is based off of but its 2.3.5 so I'm guessing one of the recent nightlies
I see we have cm7 for inspire but idk if i wanna flash. I usually go from sense to miui, i may give cm7 a go.

Ok guys, this is my first time posting in here. I just bought a Nexus One from someone and it is running Cyanogenmod7 and the battery is ehhhh..My prior phone was an iPhone 3GS and that battery would last me the entire day with a good amount of use. The Nexus One barely lasts me despite the fact that I don't even use it for more than messaging and occasional web browsing. The battery status says the battery health is "Good" so idk what the issue is. Is the Nexus One notorious for having a crappy battery life? Or is it the Cyanogenmod that is causing the problems?

Guys so I finally rooted my Captivate, but now it won't let me install custom roms. Whenever I try to reinstall packages it says this. E: Can't open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory) Installation Aborted. I tried changing the name of the .zip file but that didn't work either. What am I doing wrong?

iPhone battery life will last you literally forever compared to an Android device. CM is a pretty good ROM for that phone.
If you're trying to get your N1's battery life like that iPhone, FORGET IT

. Try using set-cpu and underclock.

What ROM?
When you download the update.zip don't extract any files from it, make sure you put the whole zip file on the internal sd card.

I've made that mistake before.

And yes I did not extract the file like you said, and I did put the whole zip file on the internal sd card but it still doesn't work. By the way I spent 4 hours on this LMAO!
It seriously keeps restricting me from reinstalling packages.

Download the update.zip from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892973

Download this ROM

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212400

Put those two files on the root of your int. SD card.

Use the 3 button method to get into recovery mode

wipe data, wipe cache and go into advance to wipe dalvik

Go back and install from zip

pick the ROM and install and once installed reboot and it might take a few minutes.

You may also want to go into accounts and make sure that email sync is on if that matters to you
