I would associate Acer's phones w/ their laptops, sub-par quality.  That's just me tho.

HTC and Samsung are the best Android phones ur gon get. Motorola's are coo but in the end, they're still Motos

Motorola audio quality and processors>

There's a reason HTC and samsung pump out twice as many phones as motorola, the hardware is cheaper.

Motorola underclocks their devices when shipped, htc and samsung do not...which is why the motorola droids have the most success with custom kernels and overclocking.

To date, motorola droid accounts for 33% of active android handsets.

At the time, that was prob the best android out and VZW also had a massive campaign.
The Snapdragon processor isn't all that great compared to what OMAP and Hummingbird( I think is the best out of the 3), the Scorpion is much better but we'll see once it's out. I believe there was a time where HTC was unhappy with Qualcomm and considering switching to another company but Qualcomm has a lot invested into the company. HTC does underclock some processor, I think they will continue to do so with the Scorpion as a new VZW was clocked down to 800MHz. People seemed bother by that, I guess people want a 1GHz processor....actually it seems as a 1.2(+)GHz processor is more desired, regardless of the type of processor it is. I do dislike the fact that HTC puts out a lot of phones. Is it because the hardware is cheaper? Idk about that since I don't know the in and outs of various phones from each company to say so, but I do know the internal design for a lot of HTC phones are similar/same. Kind of like how car companies use similar parts, it's a good way to capitalize on market. But quality control can be better, that can be said for all the 3 companies, seeing how they all had some problems.....Droid X, Evo, Galaxy S. But to my knowledge HTC has a much stronger community behind it.

This is also a good read http://forum.xda-develope...showthread.php?p=7147905

i would pick htc over motorola most of the time.  the htc evo-like phone that's coming out for verizon looks like an absolute beast.
moto has good hardware but should stay away from software like motoblur which is 100% crap and bloatware you can't even delete.  there's a few things i don't like about my x.  the volume for calls & notifications suck, camera's not that good, i hate how their texting and emails are set up.  i hope they fix those issues in the software updates but i heard the 2.2 update comes with even more bloatware (verizon can be blamed also).
