I think Google just getting lazy as f now. I will always be Google Stan but this Android 10 release has been disappointing.

And they been sloppy whenever they about to drop a new phone :smh:

pretty nice pictures with the note 10... i wonder if theres anything different with the camera from the s10... my pictures come out pretty good but not great... it needs the perfect lighting to really shine... but in dark lighting forget it

Didn't get my S6 tablet early but it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Funny thing is that I checked my account this morning and the money I spent on it mysteriously appeared back in my account.

Google needs to release an iMessage competitor already. I'm convinced most people stay with iPhones because of it.

RCS will be it I guess.

Also with Android's market share being much larger in other countries, I don't see it happening that soon.

Copped the Razer phone 2 for ~257 over the holiday weekend. Kinda dope flagship for cheap, will do for now, all I need really. Bout to trade in my note 8 to samsung so I can cop the note 10+ for someone.

Me neither, not sure what it does that textra can't aside from letting you know when it's another imessage user.

Shows when the other person is typing and had read receipts. Instant gratification stuff basically.

I don't post in here a lot but I follow the thread and enjoy Android as a whole. So I'll just put my wall of text about iMessage in a spoiler so you guys can skip over it if you want . Not looking to argue or anything, just listing why I think iMessage is far superior to Android texting. Like fluid hips said, it's a major reason why me and many other people stay with iOS. I wish Android had a de facto built in equivalent because I'd switch over in a heartbeat if it did.

You don't realize how great (yes great) iMessage is unless the majority of your friends also have iPhones. It's hard to describe how much better it is, and reading the reasons why people say it's better doesn't really get the point across. I'm gonna list some things below and I know when you guys read them you're just gonna be like "ehhh I don't really see the benefit". Admittedly I haven't used an Android phone as my daily driver in a couple of years so some of these pain points might be resolved by now.

"...not sure what it does that Textra can't".... You had to manually install Textra on your phone and set it to be the default app for texts right? You couldn't just open the stock text message app and get all the benefits of Textra right off the bat. And someone who doesn't use Textra won't get the same benefits of it or realize that it's better than their stock text message app. iMessage just works. It's built into the stock text message app. You don't have to turn it on or alter any settings or anything. You just send a text and it works. That's it. I know, installing an app is simple. But having to install a separate app to get basic text message features should be unnecessary, and a lot of people don't wanna bother and will just always use the inferior stock text message app.

Back when I used Android sending any kind of media was not a good experience. Pic resolution was really degraded. Videos were thumbnail sized and so grainy that they were hard to watch. Sometimes they wouldn't even arrive to your friend's phone and you'd have no way of knowing that it didn't go through. Sending a photo or video to another iMessage user will arrive on their phone in full size/resolution/quality. Every time. And there's a media "tab" within the message thread that allows you to see all media that's been shared between you and that person (or persons if it's a group text). So if you wanna see a pic that was sent a while ago you don't have to scroll through weeks worth of texts.

Group texts on iMessage are light years better than on Android. You can add/remove people on the fly. No need to create an entire new text thread to modify the members of the group text. You can label group texts (for example, the text will show up in your inbox as "Fantasy Football" instead of listing the 12 names of everyone involved in the group text.) The best example I can think of is an AIM chat room back in the day. I'm in several group texts with various groups of friends, colleagues, etc that make it so much easier to coordinate, communicate, collaborate, and any other C word I forgot.

The main takeaway is that it just works. It's intuitive and has quality of life improvements that should absolutely be the defaults for every texting platform out there while also incorporating things you didn't know you needed. Read receipts, typing notifications, reactions, all those bells and whistles are really just ancillary pieces. The core functionality is what makes it so much better than "regular texting" even though it's just regular texting in itself.

my friends (mix between iphones/droids) and i all use whatsapp.. best option for me because you can use it on a web browser when you're on a computer.

I'll never understand this obsession people have with imessage
I don't have service inside my job only wifi. I'm there for at least 12 hours every day. IMessage is the sole reason I switched to iPhone.

I'm also the only android guy in a group of 14. It created issues when anything happened outside of GroupMe. If there was an android equivalent I'd still be on it. The second android gets one I'm going back.

At the end of the day these are phones and I couldn't use my phone to communicate via the primary form of communication in today's day and age. That's a problem.
