They're useful. Texts/Instagram real time GPS etc.. all show up, you can read & clear notifications, it's a great convenience to not have to take the phone out to clear/check something.

some app support, like shazam, useful.

one the biggest benefits - if I'm driving and get a text I can read it off the watch from 2 feet away, text can also be replied to via the watch. plus u can scroll the entire text convo.. very clutch for when I'm using my phone for GPS and don't want to unmount/mount

it's not a game changer, but for $150, it's worth it.
How do you keep notifications from prying eyes? ie GF's.. possible?

Textra has a suite of custom notification options. You can hide stuff like the contact name, the message, disable popup, screen on, etc.

Thinking about getting Gear S2 over Moto.

Thoughts?

I'm moreso referring to the notifications on these Android wear watches.  Seems too easy for a privacy leak to occur

I picked up a Moto X Pure at Best Buy. I love it. It's a more manageable Nexus 6. Easily unlocked, rooted and running twrp and xposed instantly. I miss the Google Dialer's Caller ID though.

Is the warranty void? I read that after you request the info in order to unlock the bootloader it voids the warranty. I hope not cause i need to root and have xposed myself

"Mint" N5X, or poor white balance.
Either way I like it. The bezels look slim compared to that render with the phone case.
Can't wait for official info.

Probably poor white balance/reflections off the wall. I'm not liking the bezel, and the Snap 808 isn't very appealing while the next gen SoCs (620 & 820) seem to be beasts, but I don't know how much longer I can roll with the M8 GPE.

Off-topic, why do most guys doing reviews/revealing leaks always have ridiculous amounts of hangnails? Dudes need to get their mani/pedi on.

:smokin like what I'm reading. Gonna hold out to black Friday, probably scoop up one with a smart watch.

How's the grip on the bamboo? Would it slide off a smooth surface easily? Like if I were wearing khakis and had the phone sitting on my thigh while sitting down, would it find a way to crash into the ground?

probably.  Even this regular rubbery back i have is more slippery than i had expected.

Not sure if I the 2015's have the same back as the 2014, but I haven't had any slipping issues with white back.
