Yes install the .apk. just an fyi... some roms are already underclocked and some kernels also under clock so it might not make a difference. Check out this link it helped me set it up.

Anybody running Typo Clock? You may want to update to the latest version 0.35. The previous version eats up your RAM. It complete buckled my Evo on a handful occasions.

Both are nice, I just prefer the Evo.  I've had it since release date, I like the accessories market for it as well.  This is coming from a former Iphone owner.
