maybe it's the lineup or how they have been practicing.
team usa has all-league defenders on the team, no excuses. teams should be struggling to score on them
if you have to play jimmy/klay/dray/dj/pg then do it. defense should be way better.
still would've preferred drummond over cousins on this team
still think usa wins by double digits when this gm is all said and done

Usa team 92, 94, 96 were much dominant. The 2000 squad almost lost one game but managed to be flawless. 2002 with the b-squad was a shame. 2004 failed by losing the semifinal game and went for bronze only. 2008 and 2012 were really good. Also much respect to the 2014 squad which were Labelled as b squad but they proved to be worthy to win the world championship as they gave everything they had.

The exact same reasons I gave are the exact reasons AUS is up right now. This team has way too much NBA talent and too scrappy to not at least keep the game somewhat close. They even have the size in the paint to mitigate USA's favorable matchup.
I don't know if they'll win, but this will definitely be pretty close. Maybe USA pulls away at the end by like 7-9 points
The 2014 squad also didn't play any true competition in 2014. They lucked out avoiding most of the better teams in Rio.

Like Fran said, people forget 2012 team went into the 4th quarter losing to Lithuania
