Unpopular Opinion(s) Thread

Fam people are legitimately finding joy in antivaxxers dying from covid/ people having bad reactions to the vax…

there are people cheering on people getting fired/evicted….****** are legitimately proud of the vaccination they got as if it’s an accomplishment

none of this **** is normal behavior, just like the last election people would rather watch the country burn instead of being on the “wrong side”

you get the vax there’s a group of people ready to call you an unamerican sheep

you don’t take the vax there’s a group of people ready to call you a Trump loving conspiracy theorist

this **** is all weirdo behavior

People are already weird and this is the biggest thing going in the world for almost two years with millions of deaths and major health care and economic repercussions. You're trying to outsmart yourself if you find all this unexpected and weird.

I’m trying to “outsmart” myself because I don’t agree with your assessment of the situation…… heard you

Never said that and wasn't even speaking to you or about you in that initial post to be honest, it's just you and your feelings here. Actually think it was trill's post and whoever post I read. Again to me it's like an atomic bomb and in the aftermath going "people are acting weird" -- no ****.

The way I see it is its just a continuation of the divisiveness that has overwhelmed americans for as long as I can remember. If it wasnt the virus it'd be something else. Everythings a competition and a game of oneupsmanship. Honestly I blame the anonymity of the internet cause im quite sure people arent interacting this way irl. Its almost as if people are developing a seperate system of ego for their online personas. Although there does seem to be a merging of these online and real life egos taking place, the capitol riot as an example.

Couldn't agree more it's like the internet is a worldwide HS lunchroom, there's always a crowd watching therefore everything becomes a show & blow to the ego. Rather then reasoning with each other & understanding which is much easier to accomplish in solo settings, there's a constant need to please everyone around & be combative. Almost like there's a need to live up to that internet persona.

Well, those two groups are not of equal size, and one is getting smaller by the day 🤷‍♂️

Non baseball related sports ball caps are tacky.

I really wouldn’t care who got vaccinated or not if these anti Vaxers throughout the world weren’t causing variants to form , taking up hospital resources, and causing restrictions to continue indefinitely. I’ve personally had two family members that died from COVID/being unable to get treated on time due to hospitals being full. If being unvaccinated is that important to you, why not be that way away from the rest of us? I’m not sure why you have to refuse to get vaccinated for your own good AND make things harder/riskier for other people as well.

Dismissing the whole vax vs. Antivax thing as identity politics is problematic considering actual lives are involved. I feel the same way when people try to discuss racism in the context of "identity politics". It's their way of essentially saying none of what is being debated really matters. The antivax rhetoric for various reasons are getting people killed even those who don't deserve it. I could care less about the lives of those idiots but unfortunately their idiocy doesn't exist in a vacuum.
