Unpopular Opinion(s) Thread

There isn't no both of sides of the argument here

What I don’t understand is, if you and yours is vaccinated, why do you care if someone else isnt? I feel like the people putting down unvaccinated people are just as selfish as the anti vaxxers. Idk if they think the unvaccinated is going to catch it from them and, for some reason, they’ll feel guilty or people are just looking for a reason to put other people down. If its the latter, I think it just goes to show America is a generally unhappy place. I think its been this way since before Trump, before the pandemic. Those 2 gave people an excuse to stop hiding it.

It's kind of crazy how the people who claim to be sympathetic to people with self inflicted issues such as drug, liquor, obesity etc etc are also finding enjoyment in the nonvaxxed getting fired, evicted or even dying  .

Because unvaccinated people are largely the reason the virus is finding host bodies to mutate into worse, more contagious forms

I wonder if workers in the countless ICUs beyond capacity due to unvaccinated covid patients think "both sides" are insane

I think the non-selfish reasons the vax are pissed at the unvaxxed are 2 fold:
The unvaxxed are once again overrunning hospitals leaving no room for people going with non covid related issues.
And because the more opportunities the vaccine gets to mutate amongst the vaxxed and unvaxxed alike, the more likely a mutation occurs that is vax evasive and potentially much more deadly.

Let's just get beyond this thing already though...yep, selfish sentiment but seriously, get with it already.

I find this part to be absolutely morbid. Cheering on death is so ******* cringe.

Folks just "being real" in the most Dsve Chappelle skit way ever.

They dont trust the vaccine and the medicine right? But they trust it once they get sick?

Lol, imma stat outta the logic portions of the discussion. Just was trying to point out that while there is truth in the sentiments of both sides being based in selfishness, I'm of the opinion that one side has legitimate or logical (dammit) reasoning for their feelings.

Seeing someone lose their livelihood because they don't want to take a vaccine is funny? ya'll don't see how weird that is
Jobs come and go for everybody. Especially folks that make bad decisions. So in actually do find that portion amusing.

Only get 1 life though. Cant interview for another one.

How is it a bad decision? especially for those who already recovered from it.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said he did not have a "firm answer" when asked if natural immunity offered better protection from COVID-19 than the vaccine.
Fauci, who is President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser, was asked on Friday by CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta whether people who have tested positive for the virus should still get a shot. He cited data from Israel in August suggesting people who recovered from COVID-19 had a lower risk of contracting the delta variant than those who got a full Pfizer vaccine.

Now if someone is faced with this situation...... please tell me why it would be a "bad decision" to forego the vaccine if studies literally state the opposite?

Also when people are celebrating mass firings, evictions, banning from establishments etc etc do they not think of the overall impact that will have on America ??

The overwhelming consensus is covid + vaccine is better than just covid.

yes in terms of actually catching it going forward. The article i posted was about people who already had covid having a stronger immunity to covid than those who took the vaccine.

Millions have caught it & recovered, so for that portion of the population how does it make any sense for them to lose jobs, housing, and other freedoms when the data is showing they're more equipped to recover from covid than those who are fully vaccinated?

They asked Fauci this & he had no legit answer for it, just a we have to look into it.

Non-contagious vs contagious.
Furthermore, the way the virus is transmitted is vastly different from a disease like herpes. Smoking is banned from public spaces because second hand smoke impacts EVERYBODY around the smoker. Not much difference with COVID from the point of view of the method of transmission.

Is this point made seriously? :smh:

Daniel Wilkinson survived two tours of duty in Afghanistan but died of complications from gallstones, deteriorating slowly as his under-equipped doctors looked on helplessly.

Wilkinson, 46, lived only 90 minutes by car or 30 minutes by helicopter from Houston, renowned for its top-flight hospitals. The problem is the Texas health care system has been utterly overwhelmed by people suffering from the Delta variant of the coronavirus.

This is the real impact of the "live and let live with COVID" mentality we should tolerate.

Yeah, I haven't cared about people wearing masks or being vaccinated since May 27th (the date of my second dose). We are in September of 2021, people are not going to change their minds one way or the other at this point. I'm taking any post on SM about this topic, one way or the other, as nothing more than virtue signaling. Like, I still think your stupid if you're not vaccinated or masked up, but ehh...it's your life.

I'm Sorry but are these unvaxxed people going to disappear when they're evicted & fired? are those same issues not going to still happen?

Now your just going to have the same covid issues along with more rising crime, homelessness, drug use ........ which equates to even more illness.

At this point, any employer who cares about staying open will have to take drastic measures to reduce the likelihood of shutting down their business because of an outbreak, which includes firing non-compliant employees.

These people's freedom relies on ignoring the reality of covid and the economic and social impact of mass contamination, and preserving their freedom is not worth destabilizing the society in which we all live. This is one of those situations that proves there is no such thing as absolute freedom.

Matter of fact Cool man,

What?!?

Unvaccinated people are making up the large majority of hospitalizations due to covid. There’s daily statistical evidence on this.

They’re taking up resources from hospitals that could otherwise be helping cancer patients with chemo or people waiting for organ transplants and other life saving surgeries.

Why should we NOT care about this?

It’s a waste of tax dollars cause some idiots with no grasp of science would rather believe what some other idiot is saying on Facebook.

It’s prolonging the pandemic

In Toronto antivaxers were protesting AT hospitals blocking emergency service

But you get herd im........:lol:

The media is going to keep adding more & more flames to this Vax vs Unvaxxed narrative huh, Racism was so last year they had to spice it up for Covid Vol 2

Those backfiring mufflers are the worse than the fake air scoops and side vents people who want to go fast put on their cars.

By my house there’s a road kids race on during the weekends. Worst thing is being half asleep having to figure out if that pop pop pop is a muffler or someone firing up the block.

There's an unknown variability in the immunity garnered from infection, while the vaccine is a known quantity. Infection immunity >= vaccine immunity is not settled science. Policy makers generally have the extra burden of having to make sure something is correct before making a decision based on it

Antibody testing isn't quick, cheap, or always reliable. I'm not against it meeting a vaccine requirement if testing can be done and is accurate, but it's not feasible in a lot cases

The evidence still points to people who have recovered from covid benefiting from vaccination. If someone working in healthcare is unwilling to do so at this point, they shouldn't be working in healthcare. It's not a coincidence that the less educated healthcare workers are the ones quitting, not the doctors

No matter where you fall on the issue, finding all the discourse and debates etc around it weird gotta be the hottest take. Like where are yall even going with that one? It's the biggest damn thing going in our world, of course there's much Ado about it. That's like being hit by an atomic bomb and being surprised about the concern and debates that follow.
