Unpopular Opinion(s) Thread

There are definitely ppl from states in this country that I give workwithable credence & leniency to when it comes to problematic views & statements. That's why its hard for me to attack some like Dababy for what he said. Like I think the approach ppl took w/ him this regard wasn't helpful b/c it was more preaching & shaming than teaching, and for someone like him and how he grew up preaching & shaming ain't the way to get your point.

Like I remember I uses to Japanese ppl "***'s" b/c in my head it was calling the British "brit's", no offense nor was I aware that that term was even offensive, but someone in the wrestling thread was like
scared-no.gif

Good thing someone checked me about it on here b/c I was definitely was saying that irl AND would've definitely said it in front of the wrong person eventually  I swear, it's amazing the cool *stuff they've made it hateful.

I prefer Jet Li over Jackie Chan as an actor. Really loved him in Romeo Must Die with Aaliyah.

We basing our opinion of Jackie Chan off Rush Hour movies? Word. That’s like basing your opinion of Jordan based off his Wizards numbers.

Don’t sleep on comedic timing. It’s like crying on demand, everyone doesn’t have it.

Nah nah nah. I know his catalog extends way beyond those, it just came to mind when thinking about an unpopular opinion.

"Latino" is too broad of a term to continue being treated as a noun, and should kinda die. Tryna put one face on a population of more than half a billion ppl from 27 other places is insane & tactless. How do you even connect & speak with someone you can't pinpoint?

Shouldn’t Asian be applied to this as well then?

All the Latinos I know including my step siblings(Mexican) and girlfriend(nicaraguense) are okay with being called that, kind of like the term Asian. They just don't connect with the term Hispanic.

It's used as a noun opposed to an adjective, making it one thing instead properly separating it. Imagine Russia talking to Americans & Canadians like they're from the same place.

I thought Hispanic was the race not the nationality. Like “American” versus “black”. “Black” can be from anywhere.
