I’m not commenting on the effectiveness of the justice system, prison system economics, or morality of the death penalty. The individuals I described, in my opinion, forfeited their second chance and under no circumstances should be allowed to re-enter society. That is the whole point of reform which you originally mentioned as your reason for being against life sentences. I only offered a couple scenarios that I think would maybe change your opinion. If not, that’s fine too. Then why not just kill them instead of providing them resources to live off of & placing them in places w/ ppl of lesser sentences. It seems like counter productivity just groom a spite fetish.
And to
I do not have a stance on the death penalty nor do I care to discuss the economics of life sentences vs. the death penalty. I’ll let the criminal justice scholars and philosophers handle that.
