Under Armour?

Don't get too far ahead of yourself. We have to see whether these things are even selling before we start talking about overthrowing the hoops shoe giant that is Nike. Also, it would take some pretty bad misses on Nike's part to fall back, and based on how the Hyperfuse is selling this season -- compared to the similarly priced UA kicks -- I'd say we're still a ways away.

i have some of the Micro G Lites on the way...ill give a first impressions when they come in and a review following a couple times of playing in them.

im not going to say UA will overthrow nike since they are holding 95% of the basketball market hostage, but nike's trash they have been putting out lately makes me hope that UA will be successful enough that nike will start producing inspired, quality products again.

the hyperfuse is a great idea, but for them to slap us in the face with the tech specs on that shoe is a joke. the shoe's heel-toe transition is terrible, the shoe feels like it makes you overpronate, there's no shank plate, and forefoot zoom only for a statement level product??? it seems like you can't get anything decent from nike anymore for less than $150.

even the kobes had significant flaws. the shoe has a great fit, flexibility, and heel zoom. however, the forefoot zoom is the size of a nickel and really thin and the outsole is so thin that the shank plate was breaking through it.

maybe i need to clarify myself a lil better... when i said under armour will overthrow nike, i meant in the future like 10-15 years from now. nike wasn't a power house when they first came out with hoop shoes in the late 70's early 80's. nike had to gradually get there, and with the likes of signing michael jordan, they were able to catapult to higher lengths and a wider consumer market. under armour is an infant when it comes to basketball shoes , but with my eyes constantly being fixed on hoop shoes on the day to day, under armour's craftsmanship and attention to detail is far better than the releases im seeing from nike. case and point, if nike continues to deliver cheap product just to feed the demand with crappy materials and technology that is dying out, i would have to say that they will lose their luster and will be pushed out of their lane. this is coming from a nike employee by the way. i been loyal to the brand for quite sometime, but to see under armour make huge moves like the micro g technology and the feel and comfort behind it, i would not be surprised at all that under armour takes nike out in the future. you also have to take into account that the youth these days dont really care about the things we care about. i dont see many children in my area (socal) rockin nike too much. if under armour can strike the youth, we will see change. trust.

The black colorway is soldout on footlocker, eastbay etc, i wonder if under armour is just not giving these stores a lot of shoes, or these shoes are really selling like pancakes.

if i'm not mistaken, i think they made limited runs of these shoes just to see if the demand would be strong. i'm hoping for a re-up so i can score the all black pair and a size 9.5 in the white/black/green/red pair.
