Nike really has to take a long look at its thinking on retros. They have been re-releasing the same shoes to a point over & over. I know they did release some new ones recently, but for the most part, they don't delve into the vault of highly sought after sneakers that they haven't given a though of. I can roll off dozens of shoes off the top of my head right now, that they could release that would sell rather well. When we see the same stuff over & over, it's not exciting. What's exciting? These shoes were exciting!
Now, Why would these sell well? Because the shoes from the early 90's, were worn by kids and yound adults, who are now older and have some disposable income to buy the shoes they had when they were younger. You see it with Jordan retros ALL THE TIME. The Air Unlimiteds? I would have bought at retail 1st day of release of the Emerald color. So would have ALOT of older heads. Same people who bought up the Air Command Force retros when the "Billy Hoyle's" released.
Nike should really thing hard about trying new things in regards to the models they want to retro. Shoes like the Flight 90, Solo Flight, Force V, Ballistic Force, Force Mid & High 93, Vis-Zoom Uptempo. I can go on and on. These shoes there would get people excited to purchase. The sneakers they release in the dreck colors, not so much.
Let's use the Flight Lite High. They brought then back, sweet. In HORRID colors! The White Men Can't Jump colorway? Are you kidding?!! Garbage. They only released one OG color and it wasn't the ones Wesley Snipes wore to go with the ACF they they did release.
Nike, I know you have people you pay to watch blogs all day, so I want to say, get creative with the shoes ylj choose to bring back. Not the same rehashed stuff. Would this shoe been a Hugh seller? No. Would you have sold a decent amount of the OG colorway at release? I think so. Do something different for a change. We sneakerheads deserve some different models to choose from. Shoes we haven't seen in years!!! You do that and you may even bring back some of those who said they were done with shoes, just to get that pair they had as a kid/teenager. OK, my rant is over.
Short version: THIS SUCKS NIKE!!!
