Robert Kelly has always been over rated and a POS.

No and yes.

His legacy is tarnished because of the pedophilia. He should've went to jail/prison years ago.

He is not overrated tho. TP-2 is the goat R&B album.

People act like if you listen to any of his music you're supporting his crimes. I Wish and I Wish Remix might be 4a and 4b on my top 10 list of his songs. Throw in I Believe I Can Fly in there too. Those songs clearly aren't sexual.

It's not simply "seperating art from reality". You don't know a person's life and what memories certain sounds, references, visuals evoke etc. Some things are just very personal to people, though they may not care about others.

What I dislike is a celeb/rapper/athlete says something (which may not always be true. They speak with their brand/career on their mind first vs saying what they really think/feel because they’ll lose sponsors/get negative attention, etc) and the fan just agrees with their favorite ____ just because it’s the cool thing to do, not because they genuinely have the same view/feelings

Context matters, as does age of poster, as well as what the individual does.

Listen man, not everyone tolerant. That isn’t real. I don’t need everyone in the world to front like they are either. My views and my emotions are in tact regardless of what X celebrity feels.

That includes racism towards my own group. It doesn’t do me any favors if someone who actually feels a certain kind of way censors themselves. If anything it robs all involved from a teaching moment.

And if nothing else, it keeps it such that their bigotry is transparent.

Crazy how Maher can be a warmongering islamaphobe but since he’s white and it falls under the political umbrella he gets a pass.

There you have it, just become a politician and you get to say whatever the **** you want. If anything it just adds to your base.
