True sneaker head

I recently got back into the Jordan shoe game and was curious on how much a true sneaker head spends a month on new kicks? Do most set aside a certain amount of funds each month for kicks? and how do u justify ur purchase if you have a significant other?
 
A true "sneakerhead" buys what they want, wears what they want, and doesn't ask for instructions on how to do so.

This isn't a game, it's a hobby fam. The more you look at it as a "game" the more you're going to fall for the hype which makes you even think like this. You shouldn't be asking us how much you should spend a month on shoes. That's your business. Spend within your means. Don't go broke trying to keep up, that's the fastest way to fall for the hype

I agree, anyone who says, "sneaker head" or "shoe game" is a straight lame.

Lol.. simply put.. do what you want, buy what you want, with your money. Asking about how much you should put aside a month or "justifying" a purchase of shoes just makes you sound like you're following the masses.

Don't worry about anyone or any other "player of the game." I try to be conservative with my money and stick to maybe one release a month if there's anything I personally like.. but if certain opportunities pop up, like random restocks..

Try not to think of it as a game... because like PRIME said.. it'll just put a lot of negative connotation on everything. I don't. And I'm sure a lot of other people don't too.. I think those people tend to categorize it as a passion.

I'm lined up behind 20 empty chairs already. I'm gonna flip these new Lays to the 'beasts on the 'bay.

I'm happy I bought those Twinkies before the whole "Hostess strike". Now I got a box to gorge and a box to store.

("groceryhead" lingo) :p
 
interesting, i still think of this as a game because im competing with others on some releases. with groceries if im shopping for something in particular i always find it even if its not at that store i find it, now with j's on the other hand when its gone its gone. either i miss out or pay over retail to get it from some shady reseller offline. once i cant buy a carton off eggs because everyone else likes eggs or companies that makes eggs dub them limited so i have to buy them off the black market ill compare shoe shopping to grocery shopping. sometimes its a race to get the shoe u want , last time i checked a race is a game.
 
i dont think of it as a game...lotta ****** shoes out there...besides am90s and 95s and LBJ 9s i stick to Jordans...for me honestly I think there are alooootttt of ****** kicks out...have u seen the walls of FL lately?

for me, a matter of preference...and im in my late 30s call it nostaglia...half the kids copping do not even know wtf MJ was 
 
I've realized there indeed is a shoe game. Majority of the enthusiast who picked up this hobby recently see it that way. Instead of buying shoes they like whole heartedly, they buy what others like, whats the most buzzed about, just to have the rarest or the more shoes then the next man.

Buy what you like people. Don't feed into gimmicks, or limited production amounts to tell you what's hot.
 
Shoe game is a philosophy u either cop the shoe because of what you like due to nostalgia, preference, or style

On the other side of the coin you have the people who do no think yet they follow the roll of the drum leading the masses blindly , they cop whatever is dubbed "hot" or "hype" by the metaphorical sneaker godz ...

This my friends is a philosophy of sneakers a way of life ; a culture

The "true" sneaker heads, one who lives In the rich history of the shoes themselves, conducts research to gain knowledge into the sneaker sub culture, devotes time and effort into learning about and attaining their personal "holy grails" of Air Jordan, Nike etc.

Once you are wise to this you can walk the path of enlightenment ,

but beware of others who claim to be sneaker heads but are hype beasts and resellers for they are like the plague to an otherwise utopian society
