See look I **** with carter 1 HEAVY

To a place in time in my life

But I can't put it on an official top 5
Like if it was my personal top 5
Then yeah but then again album tapers off at the end
He trim off the fat to like 11-12 songs
Then yes top 5 maybe southern
And in the top 15-20 of rap albums overall
Carter 1 is my fav Wayne album like maaaaaaaaan
Nobody could tell me **** about Wayne during carter 1
Man I was heated at that pushback
Remember that say something single was suppose to be his first single
Video had me rollin
Plus that I feel like ****** something or I believe it was actually called do it
Maaaaan I'm reminiscing
But back to topic
Carter 1 is in my top 5
But 400 degreez is better and maintains that high throughout thT while album
Like there's no skip able tracks
Though I hate follow me now

Also Wayne killed on my own
Boy flow on that was toooo damn cold
And omg the intro interlude and outro is my ****
Top 5 intro songs with Jay the snake robertZ dynasty intro

Came here to say where the Hell is 400 Degreez!!

Also Eightball and MJG Coming Out Hard is top 5.

Id say Jeezy TM101 is the only classic released after 400 Degreez that should be considered for Southern Top 5.

No love for Carter 1? That album to me is one of the best hip hop albums period.

Also, Lord Willin is definitely a southern album Hahahaha Hahahaha
Lord Willin is trash though............

Only album that should be on every list no matter what is 400 degrees. IDC idc idc. Being born in 89 and being from the Midwest we wasn't really introduced to scarface, ugk, 8ball n mjg etc. 1st time hearing of ugk was big pimpin and didn't hear em again til years later. Outlast deserves to be on there also but I didn't have those albums at time of release so I don't know the impact

Tm101 and carter 1 are on my personal favorite list but idk if I can put em in the top 5 ever yet. Tm101 maybe tho, its tough but can't put c1 on it even tho that's his best work to date.

Repped and agree with everything u said
Born in 85 and ataliens was my **** in 6th grade
And outkast was kinda slept on with their first album
Their second album was when nationally people peeped EM
Aquemini when people STARTED respected EM
Stankonia when EVERYONE respected EM
SB/lb they lost :lol

You gotta listen to Ridin Dirty if you haven't already. It's one of them albums when you get older you appreciate more. You can hear the influence of it today. The lyrics and the production.

I think one of them came out and said they weren't considered southern. Never had that southern sound and they're not even country.

Lord Willin is cool but some of those beats aged like white people. Can't listen to like half of it.

Andre 3000 3rd most overrated rapper in history
Like he cool
Just not enough solo material
And when left to his own devices we see what happens ex: love below

UGK - Ridin' Dirty

Goodie Mob - Soul Food

Outkast - ATLiens

Juvenile - 400 Degreez

Little Brother - The Listening

Deliverance, The Diary, On Top Of The World, Thug Motivation 101 and Aquemini all came close.

Sucks a lot of classic southern albums I didn't get to listen to in the moment. I feel like it takes away from the total experience for me

Aquemini is a great album but I already had two Dungeon Family in my top five and I wanted to show LB some love.

I also never really think of Clipse as a Southern group even though Lord Willin' gets plenty of spins to this day.

It's southern to me. I got a lot of fam in VA, and they rep and act southern there. Especially in the 757 & 804 where they were bumping Clipse heavy...so that experience made me relate to it.

Riding round Petersburg, Hopewell and Richmond, VA bumping the Clipse in the summer with my bro and cousins.

Great times :hat

I got fam in Virginia. It's country den a mug, the accents are heavy as hell. A whole lot of dirt roads and big *** insects but I never looked at the Clipes as a southern group. Lord Willin has a lil southern sound in it (Young Boy and Virginia) but I wouldn't say it's a full down south album.

Whatttt I'm the only one that prefers Stankonia over the other Outkast albums?

yes

Stankonia is an experience. Great album but it's 3rd in their catalog.

Yeah, I mean the album opens up fully southern with its first two tracks being Young Boy and Virginia. Virginia was like an anthem for ***** there. Love that song. I think most like to consider it an "East Coast" album because it comes off as more "lyrical" than the stereotypical "Deep South" albums...and uses the Neptune's production.

I was in VA heavy when that dropped. Them country ***** loved it. Neptune sound of the early 00's wasn't too far off from Timbo's and some of the other local dudes in the 757/804 sound. Imma have to ask my cousin bout them local dudes he was gassing when I can.
