I had the privilege of touring Tinker's design studio several years ago as a NIKE Basketball employee. At the time, he had design sketches of the Air Jordan line arranged chronologically, including the shoes created between numerical models that hadn't been produced yet. The AJ3 sketches were labeled "Revolution" as a reference to the 1998 marketing campaign featuring shoes with the visible Air. The AJ3 and Air Revolution Low were essentially the same shoe except for the ankle strap. The upper components, midsole, cushioning, eyelets, ankle cut, and overall silhouette are practically identical.
