Think about this though right - the best soccer players in the world only complete ~90% of their passes and maybe 15% of their shots? So they make plenty mistakes. The best basketball players shoot ~50% and have multiple turnovers. The best hitters in baseball only get a hit 30% of the time.
But we expect refs to make 100% of the calls correct. It's a super difficult job, especially when you consider their "successful" calls are not celebrated, they're only chastised for the ones they don't get right.
I've done some reffing at the high school level and I'll admit it sucks.

It's easy to say it was a bad call when you have the luxury of watching slow-mo replays over and over again. Try being out there in real time and making calls.
