I've just come to the conclusion refs are bad in every sport.

Think about this though right - the best soccer players in the world only complete ~90% of their passes and maybe 15% of their shots? So they make plenty mistakes. The best basketball players shoot ~50% and have multiple turnovers. The best hitters in baseball only get a hit 30% of the time.


But we expect refs to make 100% of the calls correct. It's a super difficult job, especially when you consider their "successful" calls are not celebrated, they're only chastised for the ones they don't get right.



I've done some reffing at the high school level and I'll admit it sucks.
 
Aguero had a terrible first touch there, Petr Cech could've scooped that up but he hesitated. That's on the GK

Thought Aguero's touch was to heavy and Cech was gonna get it but he hesistated coming out for it
