Any serious Poker player here on NT ? Have any of you ever play in medium to big tournament ? I need tips. I want to try a poker tournament for a first time

No big tournaments for me. Just friendly competition with friends. I actually just played some tonight at a friend's house

I play mainly the medium stakes cash games online, but I'll play almost any live tourney because more than 90 percent of the players do not know what theyare doing

and just expect to lose if this is your first tourney

I'm not anywhere near a pro in Poker.....but I can bluff and win a few hands. You want to play Uno on Facebook with me and this girl?

pretty much what he said

If you're just starting out play fairly tight. As you get better and start to understand betting schemes and what not then widen your range of hands butdon't be an idiot. If you're beat then fold!

In the last month and a half I've won 4,000 online and over 7,000 in live cash games.

I actually play a lot of live poker tournaments. I just placed 66th out of 921 players in the deep stack tourny at the Borgata last week. What a waste of 2days worth of work, sure i made a little money and all, but when you get that deep, it's not about the money no more. The buy in was $1500+150, first placewas $320k, yes that means $320,000 !!!!

going back next month for the WPT events at the Borgata, wish me luck

In regards of any tips, there's nothing wrong with playing textbook poker, that means to fold most hands and only play monsters, but the premium hands youdo choose to play, make sure you win those pots, good luck!

If you live in the SoCal area, there are a lot of casinos that offer low entry fee tournys ... I finished 3rd or 4th in a tourny at the Chumash Casino, on a$35 buy-in and won I think close to 6 or 700

play your position, don't get fancy, know when to fold, play tight and aggressive but know when to switch gears.

Good luck lamchopz!! I'm not quite old enough to play in all the big live tournaments yet, I'm only 20. But after February 21st I'll be playinglive tournaments quite a bit. I already have my money saved for next years WSOP. But yea, good luck lamchopz!

thanks JordanFiendx, if i win anything over 10k, I got you on a pair of spacejams since I see you're a big fan of the 11s, no problem !!!
