Things to do in Hawaii

Yea as much as I love HI not sure I could live there year round being so far from the mainland. If you want to live cheap look up Ocean View on the Big Island. More for retired people and hippies though as you're about an hour away from main city of Kona. Big Island is nice place to visit though but it's so quiet and you need a car for most destinations.

My friends swore by this place but it was decent at best... it was like an Ihop in Hawaii

i have no idea why it's so hyped up aside from the convenience. the food there is super mediocre.

Waikiki: Lot's of places to eat depending what you're looking for
Restaurant Suntory(teppanyaki and whiskey)
Arancino(Italian, uni pasta, squid ink pasta, squid w/ mentaiko pasta)
DK Steakhouse
Lot's of bars(Buho is a chill rooftop bar. Rumfire, Dukes, Moana Surf Bar if you're trying to be near the beach. Kelly O'Neil's if youre looking for a no frills place to drink, one of the only spots you can also  ) 
Cheesecake Factory 

Hawaiian food:
Highway Inn(I like the Waipahu location but there's one in town)
Halena's(more popular with tourist)

Korean:
Kyung's Seafood(good if you want to add poke to your korean plate, also good place to drink at night with a larger party)
Korea House(yakuniku, adult entertainment next door )
Millions(good if you're eating by yourself, also has yakuniku)

North Shore:
Shrimps Trucks(I like Macky's for the lemon pepper, Giovanni's for the garlic w' spicy sauce on the side.)
Storto's(grab yourself a sandwich, do half only tho. full is like 14"s and 1/2 a lb
Go swimming at Waimea Bay unless there's waves, it's summer so it should be flat.

Shave Ice:
Shimazu(best on the island, don't believe anyone that tells you different)
Monsarrat Ave Shave Ice(not as traditional, fresh fruit  syrups and japanese style toppings. in the little crack next to Pioneer Saloon)
Frost City(taiwanese shave ice)

Poke:
Literally everywhere

Fried Chicken:
Vons Korean Fried Chicken(get the crispy fried shoyu, god level stuff)


I recommend doing most things in the morning/early after noon like 8am-3pm if youre trying to avoid traffic. don't try to go to the westside after 3, well dont go there at all.   

Bruh can you compile a list like this for Maui or do you have any suggestions? I'll be visiting ~May 2017.

just got back yesterday from spending the holidays with my grandparents and aunt out there. island vibes and being there like old times making the withdrawals much more worse. listening to kccn fm 100 right now.... lol

as much as i love zippys i can understand where everyones coming from. i only order the chili frank plate, zip pack, naples, and garlic miso chicken

love hawaii especially since its my second home. but ever since ive spent my summers there as a kid and have been back to visit, i was never crazy about malasadas. the fam and i usually go at least once, but never excited to go there myself

I would go to Lanai. Most laid back island.

if you go oahu, im usually on the east side in hawaii kai. usually go to sandys, sherwoods, waimanalo for the beach and hit up ono steaks/shrimp shack or zippys and fatboys near kokohead. kailua also great place for beach and plate lunch. 

theres def much more to do that real locals can chime in on, but thats usually where my fam and friends go in addition to a bunch of other food spots

Teddy's Burgers & Marukame Udon are two places that I would go to if I went back to Oahu. Leonards was good too, my fam really enjoyed it, but I'm not much of a baked goods person.

Definitely a fun place to go for sure, hear it's not as good as it used to be, but it's "private" and you get to see some fishes.

Also went zip lining at CLIMB Works Keana Farms when I was there, it was fun, but got slightly sun burnt being in the hot sun for that long. Went to turtle beach while I was up in North shore. Had a picnic on some cliffs overlooking the ocean behind/in the back yards of people's mansions, the view was amazing. Forget where it was, but it's awesome to go there with your s/o.

Guys. I need help.

I plan on visiting Oahu this September and needed some further ideas. I wanna make another island visit but is torn between Kauai, Maui, or Big island. I will be in Hawaii for 11 days for a spur of the moment trip and will be with the girlfriend. Will by flying in to Honolulu and want to make a inter-island flight to one of the neighboring islands above. We love hiking. So which island would be a must visit? Not really a honeymooning/relaxing type of couple so we will rarely be relaxing in a resort type place until maybe the last few days of the trip. Any recommendation on places to stay? Best beaches? Fishing options? Trying to limit myself to 125-150 a night for hotels. Should I wing it and use hotel tonight when I get there ?

We plan to visit and hike Haiku Stairs. Any recommendation there also? Sorry for all the questions. I am trying to budget and save as soon as possible.
