If you rent a car you should head over to Windsor, there's a lot of bars/clubs/strip clubs in downtown Windsor (as well as Caesars Windsor) and you can get there in 10-15 minutes from downtown Detroit through the tunnel. You can also take a tunnel bus over to Windsor if you don't rent a car. In Detroit it would probably be best to just stay in the downtown area. As Uptowns said, there's casinos and some good restaurants in downtown Detroit but there's really nothing to do in the rest of Detroit itself unless you head out to the suburbs. There's a lot to do in Royal Oak and there's some good malls like Somerset Collection and Great Lakes Crossing. Great Lakes Crossing is very close to the Palace about 30 minutes outside of Detroit so if you rent a car you should definitely try to catch a Pistons game.Originally Posted by Still1Rise

Yea I planned to stay downtown for most of the time. Sounds like a rental car is a must if I go anywhere else.
