this is my last response to you. does eric spoelstra draw up plays or winning defensive strategies? no. is spoelstra responsible for bringing this team together? no. when we're down, does spoelstra make some changes and turn the game around? no. does spoelstra even design out of bounds plays from timeouts? not very often. nope. and by ur logic, then when lebron was on the cavs...mike brown mustve been a GREAT coach too. since it was the best basketball theyd played in years and the best record. but then again what happened to mike brown once lebron left? hmm.....then u suggest battier over birdman since i guess theyre the same position? or maybe youre suggesting we have bosh at center and battier at sf? sorry, i love battier i do. but i said KILL squad. a lineup thatd impose fear on a team in the 4th. that lu-bu type stuff. if u wanna credit spoelstras "system" for the heats record youre free to do so. i strongly disagree with you. when we're down by 20 in the 3rd quarter and lebron brings us back im sure ud credit spoelstra's system lol. no matter. #heatnation at the end of the day. long as our team wins, it doesnt matter. good day.I just love how you dismiss the fact Pat Riley hand picked Eric Spolestra to coach the team then praise Pat Riley for putting talented players on the team. That is laughable. Do you not see the inconsistencies in your argument? Eric Spolestra got chosen because he has great coaching talent.
You try to downplay Eric Spolestra because he was a Video Coordinator. So what? Talent can come from anywhere and the man is great at developing players. Look at how Wade blossomed under Eric Spolestra. Look at how Chalmers has developed since his rookie season. Even Norris Cole has shown some improvement this season.
Wade, Bron, and Bosh are having their most efficient season ever. This team has stayed focused night after night during the 27 game winning streak. They were business as usual last night against the Pelicans. Coaching has a lot to do with it. Eric Spolestra and his coaching staff are amongst the best in the league. His track record proves this. These are facts. You can't dispute this.
How can I take your argument seriously when you say that Bernie could coach this team to a championship? If Bernie the Heat mascot could coach this team why would you need a Pat Riley, a Doc Rivers, or a Phil Jackson? If talent is all you need, how come those Bulls teams never won until Phil Jackson got there. Why are the talented Lakers only 1 game over .500?
You asked... "if Doc Rivers or Phil Jackson were coaching could it be worse? My answer is... Probably not, but how could it be better? This team is playing the best basketball we have seen in years. You are a Miami Heat fan who is criticizing a coach who has won a championship and coached his team to the best record in the NBA. That is ridiculous.
You say Wade, Bosh, and James murdered in ALL STAR GAMES and the OLYMPICS. The playing styles in those instances don't translate into a successful NBA season. Did you not see how mediocre they played when they first got together in 2010? These last three seasons have been a process and every year they have gotten better in Eric Spolestra's system. And its not just the "Big Three" its the whole team. They collectively have gotten better and the role players are playing some of the most inspired basketball I have ever seen. That is in part due to coaching.
Talent on its own can win you some games. But when you combine that talent with great coaching have something special. That is what you have with this Heat team.
Lastly, you talked about having Wade, Allen, LeBron, Bosh, and Birdman as the best lineup. I don't agree that this is the best lineup. Call me an idiot all you want, but Chris Andersen is new to our system and I don't trust him like I trust Shane Battier. Shane Battier's basketball IQ, leadership, and shooting ability trumps anything the Birdman can provide right now... especially in 4th quarter situations. Battier in the linup has won the Miami Heat a championship and has won 27 games in a row. This is the best lineup in the NBA. The fact that you feel YOUR lineup is better makes me question your logic.
