Ja morant not top 10 pg cold, but he’s the goods. I’m a believer. He skyrockets if the 3 ball is a real thing. Has range on it too.
I think his three point shot is going to come and go. And that's ok because his game is built around penetration first.

especially if his game adapts to whats the norm now of dudes jacking up 6+ 3's a game
Not sure if that's going to happen. Still early and I don't know him that well but it seems like he's a pass first kind of guy who happens to be able to score. Which is a breath of fresh air cuz combo guards are typically scorers who have playmaking ability.

Memphis/Tennessee is a basketball state though.

Ja is CLEARLY the ROY. Market has no bearings

Yea, Memphis is. But, that's not necessarily how the NBA works. The market does matter when it comes to player exposure unless the player becomes so good (top 10 player) it forces the NBA to put them on TV (i.e. Giannis, AD, etc.). Utah got 25 national TV games this year with Donovan becoming more and more of a marketable name.

As far as Ja winning ROY, he can get that regardless of what market he's in as long as he's ballin out.

I like the fact that he manages the game pretty well. He's one of the best 4th quarter scorers in the NBA right now (whether that means something or not right now), but he's tied for 2nd in the NBA with 8.5 points in the 4th. Peter Edmiston did some research on it and other rookies who had pretty good 4Q scoring averages were:

Iverson: 7ppg
Lebron: 5ppg
Melo: 5ppg
Durant: 4.9ppg
Steph: 4.7ppg

Like I said, I don't quite know what the stat means because we could very well not be in games and he's scoring like that. However, the close games we've had, he's definitely been our closer. I will say that he doesn't get too tired towards the end of games and it may be because of his minutes being managed. But, he does a good job at getting others involved early then being more aggressive later in the game.

tough game in philly tonight.. nugs gonna come in hungry after losing 2 straight

interesting stat though https://stats.nba.com/teams/traditional/?sort=FG3_PCT&dir=-1

Sixers are 7th in 3P%

but 21st in 3PM

would love to see a few more drop in but with not many shooters its tough but stats deff surprise me something i wasnt expecting early on this season % wise

would love to see another aggressive simmons game which hes 100% capable of esp at home.. crowd should be electric tonight

ugh why do i have something to do tonight been dying to see this nuggs team in person

I love that we are seeing Thybulle come into his own, his shot attempts are increasing which means fewer attempts for Kork (which is a great thing).

the %s are high because they take selective shots, they don't just launch it when they see a little room. We just don't have that personnel type.

Portland's cap would be ****** royally for the near future if they get Love and keep CJ and Dame right?

There are outliers to every rule

Ja is a top 10 PG in this league already. His poise, unselfishness, and iq reminds me of Dame as a rookie. Except this kid is 20. Glad he's not a Knick because he wouldnt have looked this good.

How has RJ looked? I only saw stats and seemed to be doing alright. Better than what I was expecting. But is he a solid piece to build around?

I am probably one of the only people who thinks Love to Portland will be a bad fit.

I think teams that should consider looking at love (a place where he can actually make a difference) are:
  • Jazz: They (still) need an offensive spark and the PF position is still a position of need. Pairing him with Rudy should bode very well. They will get killed in the pick and roll come playoff time tho.
  • Suns: They have young pieces and adding Love to the Booker, Rubio, Ayton nucleus should work well offensively and should significantly increase their chances to make the playoffs this year and even make a little noise.

Him going to Portland would NOT make them a contender so I don't see the point.
Miami is also not a great fit, at least I don't think so and they should be targetting someone like Julius who is much cheaper and can do similar things.

I think he "fits" per say, but I agree he does nothing to put them in competition with the upper tier teams and they shouldn't do it. Utah makes a lot of sense. But living in Cleveland then Utah sounds awful :lol

Na I agree. Love in Portland would be terrible.

In a conference with Jokic, AD, Gobert, Capela etc they'll have serious defensive problems.

He's been our 2nd best player this year. He's just a very good basketball player and a jack of all trades for someone 19. Idk about a franchise changing player (maybe one day). If he was an average FT shooter he'd be averaging 20+ easily. Definitely his biggest weakness.

He was also used improperly at PG by Fiz. Kid is a wing and should stay there.

portland should just do it.

they not getting out the west anyways in the next 4 years with the lakers clippers mavericks and nuggets there

also a healthy klay and steph with whatever they get for druss...

love in golden state maybe?
