He struggled mightily attempting to post up Frank Jackson. Missed or offensive foul on literally every single one in the 2nd half.

Every other aspect of his offense looked good. 3 ball, 2 dribble pull up, roll man in pnr he was successful. I imagine he’ll get a few more games to see if he’s still effective back to basket before they stop running that action for him.

Defensively he made a few good plays, even got a block, but was mostly poor. Ball watching & completely lost Jackson a few times, didn’t bother closing out once. On line with what you’d expect tbh.

He’ll probably get cut if he can’t figure out the post or his 3 ball starts rimming out.

he’s gotta try to be more markieff Morris than Carmelo Anthony

it’s hard for a tiger to change his stripee

Struggling under performing NBA teams sign Melo just to crucify him for their basketball sins...man Dame didn't even play last night ESPN gotta chill.

ESPN had a good point that if there was a team that needed a Gleague affiliate, it would be Portland right now.

Im good off this garbage, the nerds trying to take over basketball. They’re losing that game with or without him, he hasn’t played in over year and they cant factor in the energy or excitement he brought to the game.

The nerds are right about Melo tho (they’ve been right over 3 years....when y’all still believed he had it, and he was clearly declining on every front). Eye test and numbers BEEN backing it up. And it’s OKAY. His career arc is where it should be.

Melo just has to be better than Hezonja and he’s alrea helping the Blazers

I haven’t seen 100027 100027 post in a minute and he’s here hating on Melo without missing a beat

I respect it.
Same goes for keko jones keko jones and his self fuel hatred for lebron they only come around when they aren't performing well.
Melo hasn’t performed well for at least 4 seasons my dude.
im just enjoying last night because it’s absolutely hilarious you chumps are still making excuses for this guy.

I can’t listen to people act like the sky is green and not say anything.

Melo in his 17th year, hasn't played ball in a year plus & came into the game being expected to run offense immediately.

What did anyone think was going to happen

I sometimes wonder how a guy like Melo would be looked at if he was in his prime under today's rules & trends.. Melo dominated & took contested mid ranges because during his era of ball that was emphasized..

If he was developed under the trends & style of this era... he takes the same contested shots but instead of doing that from 18 he's doing it from 3 and making 34-35 percent of them. Suddenly he goes to being an "efficient" player.

If Melo fails it is what it is here. It should be a bit better if expectations are lowered.

Let's not act like he was not playing with Russ and Harden in his last 2 situations.

**** I do not even want to play with those 2.

Nah man Harden got Ben Mclemore looking serviceable and he’s on his ninth life

The Blazers are a bad team, playing on the second night of a back-to-back without their best player and Carmelo hasn't played a game in over a year and was immediately inserted into the starting lineup. I'm far from a Melo Stan but it's completely unfair to judge him under those circumstances.

do I think he's going to be successful and turn things around for the Blazers? No I don't but I also don't think we can judge just yet

Yeah, Melo is supposed to be washed so talking about his last 4 seasons is different than judging his career.

That said the biggest issue with Melo’s career in full, imo, was not necessarily his inefficiency. It’s that he struggled to get his points within the flow of the offense and so was always a ball stopper, which hurt his teammates. And that he didn’t do any of the little things well on the court, like making quick decisions, setting picks or playing defense.

Yeah he was generally inefficient but he wasn’t terrible on that front.
