was up all night doing an 8 page paper last nigh that I actually didnt finish until 3 this afternoon with no sleep. going on close to 40 hours awake my vision is straight up slow. Its kind of like being messed up on pks or something but obvious none of the euphoric or high feelings. kind of wild how much sleep affects reaction time and concentration, everything takes me twice as long to do. even type this post. I'm going to bed, but the way i keep dozing with my eyes open its just somewhat interesting to me.

I know what you mean.

But when I'm pulling all-niters and my body just uncontrollably slows down, I don't appreciate it I **!*+*! hate it because at that point in the night I'm usually only half way done w/ my work yet I'm working at an increasingly slow rate so I end up taking like 12 x more time to finish my %!#@.

I had sleeping issues and was taking Ambien.

That's when you really start seeing the visual effects of sleep deprivation. Ambien produces some crazy trips I'll tell ya if you manage to stay awake long enough.

I love the feeling right before I go to sleep when I've been up for 36+ hours from doing a paper. Especially if u know u ain't got +%%! to do for atleast 24 hours

I hate the feeling of being sooo tired but for some reason delay going to bed (usually because of nt). Restlessness is the worst feeling in the world.

I definitely know the feeling. I suffer from insomnia and take sleeping medication most nights in order to fall asleep. I once ( two summers ago) stayed up 48 hours straight and it was the worst feeling ever, vision was crazy and I was laughing non stop for no reason. One would have thought I was under the influence of some type of drug, if they saw me.

Amen my brother. But sleeping for 20 hours straight is not the business anymore. I hate when I go to sleep at 5pm and wake up the next day at 2pm.

Had to ruin a good thing, didn't you?

The worst is when the sun comes up and you got just enough energy to keep moving. Cuz when you're finally about to crash, you're on another planet.

hhahah good ol sleep deprivation, what boring teens do out in north dakota to experience cheap hallucinations

I woke up a few hours ago and im not gonna go to sleep for like 48 hours.. Im gonna stay up till saturday night and an hour before I go to sleep imma smoke me some dmt.

i stayed awake for over 48 hours when i was travelin across the country. 48 hours seems like a week.

I could never do all nighters. I found them so counter-productive, couldn't concentrate and spent more effort trying to stay awake than on the work I was supposed to be doing. Found that sleeping and waking up early to continue working was more productive.

um..
the effects of sleep deprivation/induced psychosis are usually a side-effect of staying up, with or without stimulants
..people don't really TRY to undergo psychosis-like situations..
If anything, I would think people in urban areas would undergo SD (albeit unintentionally)

After about 24 hours, things may seem to be going slower/you have slower thought process
any more and you can encounter "shadow people," see black dots, and maybe have some auditory hallucinations.
I highly doubt people in rural areas would do this for a cheap thrill.
I'd also say that this is more evident when you're on caffiene or amphetamines (thus stimulant induced psychosis)

I personally hate it. At the time, I may be happy with the fact that I got stuff done and am still able to be semi-productive---
but its horrible for your health..
