The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

Heard rumors that Rolex is set to increase prices substantially in the next month or two due to the insane Swiss tariffs.

Will be curious if it could be a breaking point for waitlists. I’m not enthused at the thought of paying another $1k for an OP or DJ right now.

It’s cheaper to book a flight to Europe at this point.

i have been thinking about this, my brothers going to japan in november and theres this japan only cartier i want him to grab for me but that customs fee is going to be huge if he declared so i told him maybe its best not to

i know the repercussions if caught but also seems slim

but i am still curious what really are the chances they'd even know? i told him if he wants he can resize it and wear it and maybe ship the box back or something and then there would be no traces for them to know its a new watch

Lower msrp + customs is still likely to be less than whatever the new msrp will be. Can try not to declare but can be subject to fine in addition to the customs fee. Burden of proof is on the customs officer.

Pulled up to a Breitling/NFL event at my ADs. Richard Sherman was the guest of honor. He did a Q&A and took pictures with guest. Super cool dude.

I asked him which teammate of his had the best watch collection.. he said Sidney Rice.

A VP from Breitling was there and stated that their contract with the NFL runs through 2030

new santos both in large one with a black dial and lume and the other in fill titanium

The new steel version of the Cartier Santos (or Santos de Cartier, if you prefer) will be in boutiques immediately for a price $8,650 while the titanium model will be available from November 1, 2025, for $11,500.

I’m looking for a black dialed watch for my wedding in a couple of months and this just about hit the spot. But a large would be too big for my wrist and for a black tie event like that. I like these moves from Cartier tho.

This looks awesome, wow.

I know everyone wants on-the-fly microadjust clasps now but I don’t love it on integrated bracelets - it throws off the continuity of the bracelet imo.

I’d be in for a medium in titanium. I’d prefer not to have a date window.

I’m hearing rumblings of a 10%+ price increase coming from Rolex in December or January. Anyone else hearing similar?

I’m on the list/in the market for the new black lacquer dial OP36 for my wedding early next year. Hoping I can make it happen before such a price increase smh.

What do you guys think of the new Santos de Cartier Small Model with the quartz movement?
