The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

As the weather warms up, I’ve been thinking of putting a watch on a rubber strap.

Problem being, none of my current collection feels like a rubber strap type of watch. Maybe the Alpinist? But I don’t know what color would go well with the green dial - brown leathers look best on that for me.

Unfortunately don’t have Aquanaut or PM Rollie funds. Maybe I’ll have to snag a smaller Seiko diver for beating around this summer?

Rubber straps are the best. I started wearing them a year or two ago and don’t even bother with bracelets really anymore. Green tropic may look good on the alpinist?

It’s been a while :nthat:

Anyone here have an AP Royal Oak? If so how was your AD experience?
I went to the Americana boutique in Manhasset and had to leave immediately. Not because of service, but it smelled like *** in there. Way too heavy on whatever incense or air freshener they were using.

Grabbed a green PRX after seeing the land dweller. Loving it as a cheap summer watch to bang around with. Really punches above its weight.

Also picked up the bracelet for my Aqua Terra, should’ve just gotten it on a bracelet from the get go. Leather didn’t age well at all for every day use. Rather go with bracelet or rubber in the summer anyway so I can jump in the shower or pool freely without concerns. The sub spoiled me all year with that luxury.

Went watch shopping today visited Bucherer and Tudor and tried on quite a few pieces. Wanted to try the 35 but unfortunately only had the 40, was told the 35 isn't coming in till July.

Definitely prefer the the black dial, the watch wears so well.

Got offered a Airking (first time walking in to the store) which I politely rejected but definitely a sign that things have changed.

i always kinda funny that people whine an dcomplain about a $1900 watch (even though this will be discounted to below $1500 a year from now…

the same person who can drop $20k on a quartz fp journe elegante… twice

rfx45 rfx45 I Always value reading your opinions/reviews, what's your take on that FPJ model?

Not a fan of the Tag F1 and even less so this youtuber.

I can't see the value in this watch unless you are a big F1 fan or fan of the original. You can get a lot of watch for around £1,500 from Seiko, Sinn, Oris, Hamilton and a number of other brands instead of going for a plastic watch with a citizen solar movement.

As for the youtuber, this is the same person of god (I think she's a priest or deacon) who is well off enough to buy an FP Journe, loses it and then starts a gofundme expecting her fan base to pay for it. KMT

Tried on most of the new Tudors last weekend. My favourite was definitely the burgundy 58. Wears very compact, has good wrist presence and the sunburst dial varies in different light situations.

The ultra wore well for a watch this size and I like the pop of colour on the dial.

The 68 felt huge on my wrist. The bracelet definitely is a move in the right direction

Saw the black bay pro in white too, didn't expect much and having it in hand wasn't really impressed.

Saw the burgundy 58 last week as well - the shade of red isn’t quite for me, but it’s a nice addition to the 58 lineup.

Didn’t try on divers but did try a couple of perpetuals. Probably going to remain beyond my price range but I’d love to grab one for my wedding in a year - feels like a perpetual is the perfect complication for such a day.

The JLC wears immaculately, as expected, but the IWC wore a lot better than I was expecting at 40mm.

It's definitely nicer of the two. The blue dial ain't bad. The only thing is it's a big watch.

bruh.. was just looking up something on the website and then started looking at other stuff and noticed the jump

But especially on the rootbeer which is now $18,150 (I wanna say it was $16 something).. and saw the titanium is now $15,250 (up from $14,050)
