What's up.
The term will never go away...but there was a brief period just getting comfortable using the computer for communication where one would type out "what's up?"

Now its wassup. Waddup. Being from the chi, I was saying/typing waddown.

Dude.
First time I heard it uttered as slang was by my father who was in and out (mostly out) of my life. I remember the first time he said it...im like, that's white slang...what you doing? Then, somehow...dude found its way into my vocab...it will never go away...I dont think it feels old or reads ancient. But it is my generation's "bruh".

This actually reminds me. It was the Tyreke Hill arrest video that made me aware of the fact that twin is now slang. It blew my mind. I couldn't for the life of me believe he was calling a police officer twin, but what else could he possibly hair been saying.

Then, randomly...like 3 months after the fact, I remembered my generation was using twin 2 decades ago. It was MOSTLY females using it...guys would use it with other chicks...I can't ever recall a guy calling another guy twin in my teens, however. And if he would have, pause would have quickly followed.

I know this one is still in use, but it definitely feels old. I also, as a kid, would use it for guys and gals, alike. Then one day my sister was like "you know guys only call girls shorty." Then, as I paid attention to it's usage in media, she was right. But now? I once again see it being used for both guys and gals.

I don't think I've ever used "phat". Not even when it was briefly in style Reminds me of my college days though.
