90’s era really were the hardest. The black Orlando pinstripe penny or Shaq jersey, Grant hill Detroit with the horse, San Jose sharks, Mighty Ducks, Florida Marlins etc. if you had that on as a kid it was instant credibility.

As a kid only the dirty kids and skaters used to wear the Ozzfest and Woodstock tour shirts, now those same shirts are sought after for big money and looked at as status symbols. You couldn’t pay a young me to be caught dead with one of them shirts on. It was never apart of my culture until now.

I have never in my life heard of friends going out and splitting the tab evenly.
Everyone pays for their own stuff.
It's wild to me that friends would be like, "Alright, bill's here. Divide it by... what? 6 of us?"

i’ve done this on business trips & w/friends…it was always understood upfront tho, and it just about always governs how everyone orders such that we end up ordering things that would be shared, if some was going off that script/didn’t want to share/to get something for themselves they’d get a separate check

I’m actually curious though how does this work? Because most nice places if you have say 10 people won’t be willing to give out 10 different checks. And what if appetizers are ordered what happens then?

I'm not really down with shared apps. I'm a germaphobe I don't want people digging in my food or reaching over my plate. I'm cool with ordering all my own everything and just getting a separate bill from the jump.

most places are going to be amenable to whatever, it might be not be seen as ‘proper etiquette’ but they going to have to accept however many different checks if that’s what a table is on …noting that it usually is the case that people understand what the paying arrangement is going in
