the thread about nothing...

headed out to the east coast tonight to do snow removal. I hope it doesn't snow at all and I can just be a tourist. :lol
How does this even work? Is there a temp agency or something that recruits folks from the Midwest?

They paying for your stay/travel etc?

I come in peace.

I work for a company that does snow removal at lots of airports in the gate area. So yeah I just show up they pay for the travel, food and hotel.

I’m going to Newark so that’s gross. :lol

Just show up there they put you through badging and you’re ready to roll, it’s easy money.

It’s a pretty niche form of snow removal because you’re dealing with aircraft and have to know what you’re doing so it’s worth it to them just to fly us out.

Got you.

I guess my question would be why not just get someone from that local market to do it?

It can't be codt effective to fly folks on to do that.

I have no idea. :lol

But if they’re offering I’ll take it because it barely snows here and it’s good money.

When it snows here we always have guys from Kentucky fly up to help us. I think it’s just a shortage of operators. It’s an on call job so if they work year round in New Jersey they can’t do it.

I’m laid off in the winter so it’s perfect for me.

It’s hard enough to get operators in mn, a place with mild winters and no seasonal layoff it could be impossible.
