My boss disagreed but the venture capital firm that bought the company a while ago decided to slash the testing department, it is what it is

How much is that in freedom & eagle units?
"Effective immediately" too for whatever reason. Apparently they're shifting the software testing over to the development team, which is definitely gonna be controversial. If there's anything the devs hate, it's being forced to take over tasks that are generally not assigned to developers.
Probably didn't help that I somehow got an insane contract that was significantly above market value.

My wages are split 50/50. The company pays 50% (taxed normally) and the remaining 50% is paid by my health insurance without taxation.
There's somewhat of a tax penalty that is applied to these 50/50 medical splits but the larger your gross wages, the more insignificant it is. In my case it's such a tiny fraction that it's hardly worth mentioning. Basically you can benefit massively if you have some sort of chronic disease and are able to negotiate a split with your employer. The employer is incentivized to agree because they then only have to pay their part while the health insurance covers the rest.
The benefit depends entirely on your gross wages but in my case, it allowed me to work less hours a week for much more money. My mom had a similar arrangement in her final few years before retirement but because she had a low wage, it ended up lowering her income.

On all 3, I got 3 of the letters with my first word, so I just took a shot at solving it with my 2nd attempt.
Normally, I don't guess a word until my 3rd or 4th attempts; usually 4th.
So my method is that I have 2 starter words with my first 2 attempts, and those words cover all of the vowels & Y.
Depending on what vowels are uncovered, I'll use my 3rd attempt to try out a word that has 4 consonants and just 1 vowel (like THICK).
Going like that, almost all of my solutions have come in attempt 4 or 5.
But if I get 3 letters correctly in my first attempt, I'll just go ahead and give it a shot on my 2nd attempt.
Today, not only did I have 3 letters correct, they were also all 3 in the right position.

It’s a very broken system imo.
Obviously it’s a great safety net but I don’t think it makes sense that I earned significantly more working 20h/week with the 50/50 split than if I worked fulltime.
For reference: My now former employer offered the 50/50 split because the amount of epileptic seizures I racked up basically put me at 20-30 hours a week anyway if you exclude the sick days. This was beneficial for them because now they got roughly the same amount of work from me but only had to cover half of my wages.
My mom had a 60/40 split but because of her low gross wages it decreased her income by 10% despite already barely reaching above the poverty line.
Ideally the tax penalty should be drastically reduced for lower wages and have much larger incremental increases.
The way it is now, the tax penalty for those split agreements doesn’t outweigh the amount of untaxed wages once you earn past a certain amount.
