the thread about nothing...

Diseases are a little different but as far as technology/products are concerned the majority follows some sort of SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle). That way you can keep giving them money forever

Nah, diseases aren’t different. Pfizer is a multi-billion dollar company. If people start getting cured, then there’s no need for people to be prescribed medicine. People will go to endless lengths to keep their riches

Curing disease isn’t as easy as you guys make it out to be. Oftentimes the disease is the body turning on itself. Given the terrible way we live our lives (don’t move, eat trash, lots of chemicals in our food and products, mentally weak) even cures won’t stop people from “feeling” bad and getting “sick” again.

Would you rather:

Have scientists/technology recreate a living dinosaur similar to (see link below)

OR

Have humans be able to reach the deepest parts of the ocean, and display their discoveries?

I feel Like whatever is undiscovered in the ocean will be a lot more interesting that dinosaurs , we literally can’t even imagine what’s under there. Probably where the real aliens are

If they can build a rocket send it to space and send humans over there what makes you think they can’t make antidotes for disease ? Question everything

B/C cancer isn't a singular disease, nor is heart disease. These aren't static ailments either. How would we ever even cure some diseases? Especially those arising from lifestyle decisions? Or an autoimmune disease where your own body is attacking healthy tissue?

Space travel is however static. There are laws of physics that don't change. Believe it or not matters of the body are more nuanced than even space travel. It's not as linear as you'd believe.

Fact is, there isn't enough funding. You want change? Then vote for politicians that want change, not those who want to slow STEM cell research and the like. The big issue is that Americans and the politicians they vote for are woefully scientifically illiterate.

I was watching a Chinese comedy drama all day today. Got sucked into it today with my sister

I'd learn mandarin if it could guarantee that I could wife the lead chick

No, I know about Nelson C and his Saturn story. This was a younger guy, I know he was active here at least from 08-10 and was in college. So he is probably about 30 y.o. now. He used to post pics of himself, he had waves.

You’re mixing up staff members - Nelson C is co-founder of NT and Cameron Nelson was a mod who had the Saturn. Took years to build and I don’t think he ever posted pics when it was complete because he was so fed up with the teasing about how long it took.

I remember the other guy too - but I can’t think who it was.
