I don’t the humans are devolving, if anything evolution is slowing down. People have always been dumb as ****, the internet just gives us more access to it.

with the other thread talking about the effect it is having on society, it might be fair to consider whether the changes are permanent and generational.

maybe even evolutionary.

the Internet is humanity's shared superpower, and I think it's what we do with effectively infinite access to our pool of knowledge that will define us.

After seeing a video of three men trying to prove that the government created snow (because it did not melt immediately and turned black after lighting it with a lighter) and reading the comments of those that actually believe them, i think it’s safe to say that the human race is devolving.

I don’t think a species can devolve bc it implies that evolution has a direction, which, it doesn’t. I do think that our civilization has made it possible for most people (idiots, geniuses, and ****bois alike) to live longer and furthermore, breed.

Our predator vs prey scale has matured and the idiots are no longer being picked off by lions on the Sahara. They’re free to post conspiracy snow videos and scale buildings with selfie sticks and no safety nets now.
