You'd probably enjoy the Forks Over Knives documentary. It talks about the benefits of switching from an animal to plant based diet and how the latter has literally been shown to cure certain diseases and that areas with higher meat and animal product consumption have higher rates of diseases like cancer/diabetes/etc.
I do my best to eliminate red meat. I don't have the taste for it anyway. Sure, steak is cool every once in a while but 99% of the meat I eat is chicken or turkey. Cheese still a staple for me. I consume milk every day whether it's cereal (not so much) or chocolate milk (can't live without choccy milk). I would switch to almond milk in a heartbeat, but I'm still living at my parents house so I save money by letting them do the shopping and they always keep fresh milk on deck (although I could probably get them to pick some almond milk up)....but the lack of protein in almond milk bothers me.
I definitely couldn't do 100% plant-based, but I wouldn't be opposed to eating a meatless meal 2-3 times a week.
What's your opinion on grains? I hear similar things about grains as I do meat, but could you imagine a no meat, no dairy, no grain diet? That sounds impossible. What am I gonna eat? 10lbs of spinach and 10 cans of beans everyday?
