We want some good sushi, but VA doesn't really have a lot of great options lol.
My parents are about to railroad my brother into 100K of college debt
The school is 25K per year (including room and board) and he didn't qualify for any grants/scholarships.
My advice was to go to CC and bang out 60 credits for the cheap and transfer (and potentially qualify for a scholarship).
I went to college (when it was cheaper), commuted from home (so no room and board fees) and still felt like 30K of debt was a lot.
The experience might have been fun but it certainly wasn't worth the price.
What do I do?
When I told them the numbers of what the debt looked like, they acted like a 20-20 year repayment plan wasn't bad.
Am I bugging tf out or have they lost their minds?

Yeah it's bad.
But student debt is so much in the culture of the USA that everybody feels like it's no big deal.
What if he doesn't like the field?
What if he can't find a job?
And this **** never goes away.
100k is no joke :x
I gotta side with you fam. Actually talking to my sister about choosing a school right now. My wife's loan debt is painful.
This is why these things should be taught in school. If I had better guidance I would of taken the CC route or some technical school. School debt scarred me off. That and my procrastination didn't help lol
