It didn't "duplicate" it. Your song shows up as two because you already added it to your itunes.thanks
i tried this out with an album i already had in itunes and it duplicated it
i guess i'll just do it for future downloads
When you look at the file location for both songs, the file location for both songs will be the same file.
So if you delete the "duplicate" you'll actually delete both songs because it's not really a duplicate.
Go to View>show duplicates
By doing this you can easily find your "duplicates."
