Even horrible things can have some good come out of it.

I'll give an example from my life.

in 2007 I dropped out of college, no particular reason, I just wasnt really into it and would rather work.  I was working a dead end job at a shoe store.  Working there I met this girl who ended up being my girlfriend.  I didnt know her life situation 100%, but she was basically homeless, sleeping on her grandma's couch.  She was kinda ******g crazy, she went out of her way to try to alienate me from my family ect.  During this period my mother was suffering from ovarian cancer, and she passed away.  After several months with this girl, we ended up moving in together.  I ended up in an extremely unhealthy relationship, got my car repo'ed, ended up dead broke, and homeless.

For years after high school my dad had tried to get me to join the military, but I had no interest.  Now that I was at rock bottom, the recruiter came into my job, and I signed the papers right then and there no questions asked.  Now I'm focused, back in school and have my life together in  a way that I would have never imagined before.

I spend alot of time thinking about how different my life would have been had I stayed in that situation, honestly, most likely dead or in jail.  Most likely dead.  I thank God everyday, because as many things as I did to mess my life up, I can take ZERO credit for where I am now.

I know not everybody is a believer, and I'm ok with that.  I think you should find things on your own to a certain extent, but this is very real in my life.

Wow man, this whole time never knew the specifics. Glad you decided on that change. A lot of people would have just stayed in that zone and not have the strength to change.
