Just the other week my local locksmith made me a new set and it ran me 250.
Few heads on here claimed i got got, and their locksmiths could do it for as low as 20$.
Not sure if thats true or not.

It also depends on the kind of key. If it's just a basic key that's one thing, but my Mom had to get her keys replaced for her Acura TL and because of some chip in the key, the reprogramming cost a hell of a lot more.

its a basic key.
called up a locksmith by the house and the lowest he can go is 165..**** it...paying for another persons mistake..smh.

Any never model car for the most part has a chip in the key and what's why your paying for.
My current key is a flip one with open/lock/trunk on it for a 2001 GTI.
I can find the keys for cheap on eBay, but to get it cut / reprogrammed 200-300 depending on where you go.
