the thread about nothing...

neither. Daniel Craig ruined 007 for me. Tom Cruise ruined Mission Impossible for me. too bad Jason Statham never had an off-shoot of his character in this movie.

Wutttt, Daniel Craig does a good Bond. How did Tom Cruise ruin MI for you? He literally is Ethan Hunt, cant see anyone else do it and he does a decent job. He has this jittery kinda nature to him but it works.

screw MI and OO7. Spy Game all the way.

Daniel Craig didn't strike me as a Bond Material eventhough he did a decent job than George Lazenby. as for Tom Cruise, that is exactly the problem of him being Ethan Hunt. everything needs to go around him and the story around him. the real MI for me worked since it revolves around the team of secret agents which appealed to me greatly. with Tom always running the point man and screen time at best most of the time, MI became nauseating.

I mean, woudnt it make more sense to center it around a character and a couple of agents? Then you get “connected” to those characters and make it a whole franchise of multiple movies. Its like MIB not focusing on Will and Tommy and it revolving around the MIB. Or focusing on other agents than 007. I get what you mean but it woudnt make for a good movie otherwise dont you think?

As far as DC playing Bond thats a fair opinion, cant argue that at all.

that was what they did to the first MI and possibly for me the best before it turned into an "ETHAN HUNT" movie. not sure if you have noticed it. Will is also a victim of his own success, wanting more screen time. just look at that dreadful first Suicide Squad.

anyhow, as far as Spy movies are concerned, just look at Kingsman. even the antagonist gets some well needed attention.

I see what you mean. Still enjoyable movies for me. First Suicide Squad was bad but also still entertaining, it has to be REAL bad for me to atleast not find an action movie entertaining. The recent Suicide Squad btw was super fire.

Only saw MI 1 entirely, or maybe MI 1 and MI 2, but not sure for the second one, tried to watch the first JB with Sean Connery...

Finished by no longer thinking I might not watch JB in their order of releases but the ones with the 2 JB I prefer. So I'm on my way to watch the 2 ones with Timothy Dalton and the 4 ones with Pierce Brosnan. Heard GoldenEye was solid too. I've already quite finished the 1st one with TD, just 15 minutes to the end and I did enjoy it but I had already seen the 2 best scenes on Youtube, plus near the end I'm not really a fan of some things...

Anyway in my mind TD and PB stick the most to the idea I have of JB. Sean Connery not enough elegant, Roger Moore not enough serious. Pierce Brosnan was supposed to start sooner but he was filming Lexington Steele I think. TD looks like a more dangerous version of PB
Also some scenes aged a certain way and feminists would be shocked watching movies and discovering how women could be used to lure enemy...

I enjoyed the old TV show of MI. I think movies might don't have the elegance characters had. At least from what I remember.

I feel Roger Moore was more interesting in The Persuaders ! Their duo was perfect. Really liked Tony Curtis' character, his banter.
And he was nice dubbed too.
+ maybe the best intro and music for an old TV show even if old TV shows' musics were great in general

EDIT : Remington Steele
