the thread about nothing...

Osaka's feels very different to me. She originally planned on competing but didnt feel well enough to discuss her matches afterwards, which I get as a guy who hates talking. When she was told that easnt acceptable and she had to do the post pressers she said okay, I'll just pull out the tourney as I dont want to follow your rules at this time.

All of that seems within reason.

The reasoning for Biles pulling out just kind of reads like a quitter. She didnt have her A stuff...was nervous about it and said nah I cant do it today. Shes accomplished way more in her life than I have so far. But I know quitting when I see it.

Just in case you couldn't find it.

So you are just subbing now?

What happened that made you do that?

covid lol. I loved remote learning. The district just opening up fully. LA county has spiked again. My population refuses to vaccinate and the kids don’t want to wear masks. It was tough going hybrid cause the kids didn’t care to follow rules.

it’s gonna be a headache and I’m too old for it

Just wanted to be sure the energy I'm about to waste on this I will feel is necessary.

I went on to later say that far too often we let moments define people as a whole. I said that in that moment she quit, but I dont let that moment define her as a whole. Far from it. She is every bit of amazing as folks have praised her to be for years now.

I too find the topic interesting and have listened to opinions to try and better understand how I should feel about the situation as a whole. And before I get into any of how I feel, I'll be clear that how I feel means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme, to her or to what she has accomplished. Think we're all in agreement there...that said, it's an interesting topic and I do enjoy the opposing view points and attempting to have them come together for some sort of understanding in my own brain space

As a human, what she did is fully understandable. But most if not all professional or highly compensated through endorsement athletes arent only judged as humans. They are judged through the lenses in which they are presented to us which is as world beating athletes. As a world beating athlete...as someone called GOAT...from her own mouth, she felt the pressure of the moment and it was too much for her. In most instances, these athletes are told to persevere. Dont succumb to the pressure. Rise above it. And quite often they either A) rise above it or B) are judged for their failure to rise above it. Not only was she not able to rise above the pressure in this moment (but has countless times in the past), she felt it necessary to remove herself from the moment. She quit on the moment. I dont blame her, especially as I learn more about "twisties". But I dont think i need to label what she did any differently than what it was to me.

She herself is not a quitter as proven through many of her accomplishments in life.

Never seen Brewster’s Millions. These older movies were so creative.
it's one of my favorite movies that I occasionally watch from time to time. funny part of that movie is despite being ridiculous, some of it turned out to be true or happened.

it’s crazy seeing the dudes that will watch the olympics with a bag of chips and crumbs on their shirt telling athletes they have a job to do

the audacity is comical

How to hate GTA San Andreas ? Easy, try this mission :lol

I think I'm going to give up the game, again, always at the same moment this and having to improve the way I swim...
But this is one of the worst moments in video gaming, how could it be funny ?
Zero and all this...

Which means even if it's a great game it's far from perfect and they could give it a real sequel one day, if we could have some interesting storyline like in GTA SA + GTA V graphics etc.
I assume we already all thought that

And buying clothes was so satisfying, don't know why I never enjoyed V, because I really tried but something's wrong...

All those old GTA games had no checkpoints. You failed you start over from the very beginning. I couldn't tolerate that today.

I'd love for them to remaster GTA3 - San Andreas with some quality of life updates.

They could even do III, VC and SA in one and only with different periods picking a new character we could follow from his young 20's to his oldness, it would be dope to see a character getting old

That's the thrill. Checkpoints easy mode.

This mission isn’t required to beat the game, but it took me a thousand attempts to beat it. Even when I did everything perfectly I made it back with barely enough fuel

Didn't even know it wasn't required
So if it's only having to swim a little I could continue, thanks :smokin

Did Roberto Duran quit?

Is he a quitter?

He sometimes overlooks my questions.

I see now.

SFII was so hard on SNES, but Chun Li and Vega were great (beginner's point of view )

The fact the mask could fall was great at this time
