the thread about nothing...

Spent the past 6 weeks relapsing back to abusing my opioids way past my prescribed dosage :smh:
Aside from my mom and the doctors/specialists treating my chronic illness, the only person who knows about the ~5 year struggle with opioid abuse is Amy. I decided to tell her back in february when I was also in a relapse and she gave me the push I needed. For the first time ever, I then prematurely ended the abuse and told my mom instead of eventually getting caught like all the previous times.

I can't attend an upcoming important work meeting because of my current situation so I figured I might as well just share the reason with all my coworkers in our group chat. The massive outpour of support and understanding from them has been incredible, maybe the time has finally arrived where I can get rid of this habit for good and stay within my prescribed dosage.
I've noticed you don't specify it so I won't ask, but is this chronic illness curable.

No, feel free to ask me anything btw. The doctors' current theory is that I actually have 2 chronic illnesses, as the one they've diagnosed (hypogonadotropic hypogonadism) explains the muscle weakness, cramps etc but not the 24/7 chronic pain in both lower legs.
Treatment for the hormone illness has drastically improved the amount of activity my muscles can handle but not to the point where I can pick up physical hobbies again. The chronic pain is unexplained and easily the biggest annoyance.
It's not a sharp or stingy pain, it's more of a continuous dull throbbing pain with a very very slight burning sensation.

Where exactly in your legs do you feel this? My brother had pain in his right calf on and off for a few months and it was annoying for him for sure.

No family members with it, not sure if it’s hereditary.
The onset of all the symptoms (the muscle weakness/cramps and chronic pain) started out of the blue when I was 20. Shortly after I had recovered from getting half of my right lung removed for unrelated congenital defect.

Been picking these up for my nephew. So far he’s got Hulk, Spider-Man, Captain America, Cyclops and just today found Iceman. Was going to buy Black Panther but Iceman is a little harder to find (1 per case?)

Had some McDonald’s today. Been a very long time since I’ve had it, probably years. The burgers are just sad now  but the fries are still as good as ever
