Been in a long relationship with ol girl?

Yeah, it's been on and off for a few years. She's cool, but I was dating this other female last year who was independent, strong sense of self, completely different from me, very intelligent/insightful that challenged me on a mental level most people have to yet to. I guess dating that girl kind of put an unreal expectation or standard to live up to against my old girl.


I've been trying to move for quite some time now, it has just been a matter of waiting on the right opportunity and not just packing up and moving without a decent comparable career lined up.

Appreciate the support. It's kind of strange interviewing now, since I interview candidates at my current job and browse through tons and tons of resumes as well to qualify potential candidates.


If I can pass along any advice to people interviewing it is this.......


Once you have gotten the interview, your qualifications/experience are good enough to have landed you the job. The interview is more of a personality/fit test with the company/organization. People often talk themselves out of a job during the interview process or show up wearing a clown suit and don't pass the eye test.

Telephone interview for a position in Sunnvale, CA in an hour...took the interview in hopes of seeing if the interviewer has any open vacancies at the Phoenix, AZ agency. That would be perfect.


Sell everything out on the East Coast and leave my girl behind, I think it's time for a fresh start.

Interview is done and I'm definitely qualified, I think they just wanted to get a feel for if I was serious about moving and leaving the East Coast.

Selection should be made within 2-4 weeks, but knowing how the Government operates, that is probably more like 3 months. Give me some time to think things over.

Yeah I was just looking up the OPM standard GS wages and the locality pay factored in. They stressed the cost of living was expensive in Sunnvale and Northern California, but it is pretty damn expensive in Northern Virginia and DC.



It would probably take a couple years to make what I make now, but I think the potential might be worth it. I kind of know how the story ends if I stay out here and it's an ok story.....but I think there can be a more enthralling tale.
