Random story, I think I almost got finessed today....
So I was picking up my GF at work (Physiotherapist) and it's in a not-so-nice neighbourhood. I arrived early so I parked at a Plaza across her workplace. I was listening to some J.Cole, and then all of a sudden some dude in his 60's approached me asking if I was heading to so-and-so. Funny enough, I was actually gonna pass by this place on my way home.
He told me he was a construction worker and he forgot his toolbox at home (It was 4 pm). I was considering dropping him off but I knew my GF wouldn't allow it, especially with the Coronavirus going around. I politely told him, "Sorry, .......". Afterwards, he asked me if he can borrow $15-20 so that he can take a taxi back, and that he'll pay me back. I think he mentioned that he forgot his debit card at home and that's why he couldn't withdraw from the ATM. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my Debit card or CC either... cause I was expecting my GF to pay if she needed anything LOL (After all, I was already picking her up from work).
So 10 minutes passed, and I'm now listening to the new Frank Ocean tracks that released today. I see a Silver 2013 C-Class Benz park beside me and start heading into the convenience store. The driver was a short brown lady who must've been in her late 20s. I see her walk out with some cash... and she gives it to the dude who approached me earlier. I got a better look at the dude and he was wearing a Brown jacket and hoodie underneath. I looked down and he was wearing Burgundy corduroy pants and Black Dr. Scholls non-slip shoes from Walmart. I don't work construction, but aren't you suppose to wear construction boots? And why the burgundy 'Corduroy' pants?
So another 5 mins pass by, and my GF is still taking her darn sweet time. I see a Light Blue Toyota Sienna park near me, and I see the same dude again. I was parked near a Wendys... and I see the Lady in the car hand this dude a Dave's Single. So now I'm thinking, why did this dude ask for a ride earlier and know he's asking people for food. Then I remembered, there's no way a Taxi ride from where he was headed was gonna cost $15-20, it's more likely double that. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't give the guy a ride...
