Mans out the matrix cubicle...congrats.I have reached the light at the end of the tunnel fam! I got the job through the help of my brother in law. It’s a relocation to the central Florida area but the company is willing to assist. I can kiss the call center environment goodbye
What didn’t you like about the cubicle life?Mans out the matrix cubicle...congrats.
I worked in a cubicle it’s not for everybody.
Random co-workers coming up my cubicle to for small talk, the isolation ,browsing NT on risky pages. etc. What didn’t you like about the cubicle life?
I see, I guess it depends on how the dept is set up, what type of work and the company. I work for a bank..the corporate end and there’s windows all around us instead of just a room with lights and minimal windows. I prefer cubicle more than open duties just because everyone is assigned a certain project in my dept. I realized when it’s open duties...a lot of people slack off and just do the bare minimum while others pick up their work. And I don’t have to force myself to talk to people just because we work together.Random co-workers coming up my cubicle to for small talk, the isolation ,browsing NT on risky pages. etc.
I’m used to open space environments i work best when I can see out the window and see the sun instead flourecent lightbulbs.
That’s a diff type of cube life haha. Just cold calling and hustling people in general sucks. It’s diff when you just get your assigned work and finish it by an expected deadline.Worked in a cubicle for like 4 days cold calling for some company It was a mix of the wolf of wall street and sorry to bother you. Owners would come in every morning and give a pep talk to everyone in the office and tell us how we could one-day drive Bentleys. They would show up in their different colored Bentley droptops to work every morning .
I remember this dude that had a thick NYC accent that would put on a proper British accent to call people and sell them a page in the company whoswho networking directory Can't front though he was killing it lol.
That was probably the worst job I've ever had...I remember the day I quit. I was on the phone with this elderly woman who was close to retiring. She was the head lunch lady at her school. I followed the script they had and was about to sell her a page in the directory for like $30. Spent an hour talking to her. At the end of the convo I just told her that it wasn't something she really needed. I felt like **** spewing her lies... Just walked out afterward... Dudes never paid me my $275 for my time
Same s*** I was saying when I was working at a warehouse. Walked out every day saying it's like a f****** casino and no windows and ain't no clocks.Random co-workers coming up my cubicle to for small talk, the isolation ,browsing NT on risky pages. etc.

I guess I got lucky with the office I ended up working in after the fact. And then it's even better now because I'm one of two people in my department and I got a small office area to myself with plenty of windows
I agree that cube life isn’t for everyone. Some people enjoy jobs that’s outdoor or more physical. There’s pros and cons to both side like everything else. Just gotta find the job that meet most of your needs. No job is perfect.Work in the it/“tech support” side of a major trading company. All day do testing software and other dedadline projects. Learned a lot but it wasn’t for me and parted ways.
Best office environment I worked in was for a boutique travel company. And we had a open Space environment got lots of work done and the pay was far greater than the trading company.
Just some random advice to those that are thinking of starting your own business or side hustles... No matter how dumb you think your idea is or if you think that you don't have the experience to do it, just do it. There are people that are literality selling **** online. Someone finessed people to buy a pet rock and became a millionaire. Someone sold eggplants with personal messages on them and made money. Don't let fear stop you.
If you're not happy at your current job then leave. Don't think about the worst case scenerio, think of the best case scenerio. You only live once... Don't end up on your death bed wondering what could have been..Fortune favors the bold
This is all
