the thread about nothing...

This coffee is not helping me this morning.

 I need sleep.

Got another letter from the social security agency. My first monthly disability allowance (€651) will be deposited on June 20th and the roughly €11000 in back payments (my allowance has a start date of February 2016) will be deposited a couple days later.

Feeling a little bit better thanks to the hormone treatment so I'm looking to make a few investments into improving my mobility and ability to exercise.

Already got a few purchases planned out. I'll give my mom €7k for the rent etc. and purchase a good electric bicycle for myself as my granddad's old one would be too costly to fix.

My mobility has improved a bit thanks to the hormone treatment but at the end of the day riding my bicycle is still restricted to short trips to the grocery store etc. due to the muscle cramps in my leg kicking in after a few minutes.

With a new electric bicycle I'll be able to slowly build up my leg strength again and traverse longer distances. If my legs are struggling I can ease the stress on my legs or give them some time to recover by using the engine. I've tested one at the local bike shop and it works great with my physical limitations.

Can't wait to be able to cycle again.

That's great news, brother. Hope you continue to improve. Glad you got a nice amount of disability to pay for things.

Glad the work week is coming to an end. Felt like forever to reach the weekend

Yeah I thought I'd be getting much less since I have no diagnosis for my condition and live with my mom. It's a fairly significant amount of money here. Our rent is about €650 for example and our house isn't that small. I have 3 rooms upstairs, mom has a bedroom downstairs, nice bathroom, good kitchen and living area, garage, storage room, front and backyard, ...

The allowance gives me eligibility for a lot more disability benefits too. Our electricty and water company has to charge us the minimum price, higher health insurance coverage, free public transport, lower tax rate, ...

Yeah I earn a pretty good amount from that. I made sure to clear it with my bank and my application with social security that I'm not committing fraud or anything. I don't tell them I sell usernames of course but I take most of my payments in Bitcoin so I explained it as bitcoin investments. Bank said I'm good to go and don't need to pay taxes on it as long as I don't earn more than a set amount. I don't transfer much of that income to my bank anyway. Most of it remains in my Bitcoin or Paypal wallet and I pay for personal expenses through those instead of my bank.

The main importance of my business is that I can do it from home and it helps keep me busy. And the past few years I've learned a lot about negotiating, trendwatching, cybersecurity, ...

I intend to pursue a degree in IT/Computer Science when I get a diagnosis (and hopefully a proper treatment) or improve to the point that I can attend evening classes or college without too much physical problems. The problem now is that committing to something is a bit hard with the uncertainty of my prognosis. It was only a few months ago that the specialists thought something was wrong with my brain. I had a lot of trouble coming to grips with the fact I had to drop out of my nursing bachelor's due to my disease and I really don't want to commit to an education again only to find out my disease could be incurable etc or miss a lot of class due to complications.

Ideally I'd like to finish my nursing education but I doubt a physically strenuous job like that will ever be a possibility again.

Be your own boss of your company or be a worker for a company but make a lot more money then being a boss of your company ?

And why ?

I would take being a worker. What people don't tell you about being your own boss is 1 its very very very time consuming. And when the more you work the more money you can earn you can turn into a workaholic (personally). Having the ability to enjoy your job still but punch the clock and go home to your family and still have a family life is more important to me then being my own boss. Also if your boss is super cool and understands your life and respects you as a person...it really isn't that bad.

This scenario is very subjective too on peoples work experiences under certain bosses. But as a government worker, some one who sees his job as working collectively to a greater good. I love being a cog in a giant system. When it all works out there is still that gratification that you were a part of the success.
