RIP. Dude was eccentric but can’t front on that run from DOA2 to Ninja Gaiden Black. Man brought Tecmo back to relevance.

EB was my spot. Used to go to the ones at the Aventura and Omni Malls in Miami and just vibe there lol. I’d spend hours talking to the clerks like they were my friends due to my gaming enthusiasm at the time.

They were still as bad as Gamespot with trad ins back then lol.

The Nintendo Entertainment System was released in North America 40 years ago today.









It was only available in the New York market, initially. It got a national release in September 1986.

I opened it up, played it a few times at most.

It spent years collecting dust, but I still had the box, so I cleaned it up and put it on eBay.

On the surface, a home run. But when you actually want to play the game is when you begin to have issues with lag, the filter, lack of online options, poor online performance, etc.

Also…playing the arcade games is an exercise in frustration with the ridiculous AI. SNK and Midway were definitely neck and neck in the race for best ability to aggravate players.
