I hope those possums stay in Brooklyn. Queens has Raccoons and they don't mess with people that often.

Possums are hideous little beasts, but they're found all over the east cost so new york already had them. And they're omnivores and like the road kill they'd make a poor choice for vermin extermination. Probably just your typical infestation after a good reproductive year
